Mod notice after Mr Bob did a lot of annoying work in moving days of posts out of here. As we are heading into offseason, this thread is for 2023 list management only. Getting upset on previous trades can be taken to the vent thread. Lets keep this thread on track in the part of the year it's actually relevant

Who will we finish ahead of?
West coast - yes
North - yes
Hawthorn - probably but I wouldn’t be certain
Saints - maybe, 50:50
Adelaide - no
Sydney - unlikely
GWS - no. These guys are seriously talent laden and have a decent coach at last
Suns - maybe, 50:50
Carlton - no
Richmond - maybe
Essendon - maybe but unlikely

The rest - no chance.

I’d say we are 14th or 15th in 2024. We just don’t have the class of the other teams sadly.
That’s pick 4 or 5. We can’t trade that.
Mate this is shocking stuff. Give it a rest. Talk about our chances next season in the pre season.

This is literally you venting. Take it to the vent thread.

Lance Collard…

would be perfect for us and in the slot for our pick range…and we could take him from west coast. He’s in their academy

Jack Delean Would also be around freo first pick. Be great to get one of those 2 in

Hopefully someone like Clay Hall gets to the 2nd pick.

Why would I want a Yeo when I have a better and just as injury prone Yeo in the shed already? Nathan Fyfe.

F3 is nearing a junk pick though

Although I guess if they rate us bottom 4 again then the pick looks better than it actually will be

They could pay us a pick to take him so they don't pay him to be fit and taking a spot in their 22 from a junior who needs the experience while they have no expectations

That is junk for me, anything outside of the second round is junk. You got teams who will give up third rounders for basically nothing around draft time.
That's why it doesn't make any sense unless they acknowledge his body is fully cooked

They could just pay him to lead the WAFL side at that point, they certainly aren't giving up picks, they'd only trade him for picks
They don't need cap space yet, they're gonna have like 15 or more players in their first or 2nd years where they are capped at a base contract.

What if he doesn’t want to play WAFL?

I doubt he does play WAFL, I was just talking about a scenario where WCE would trade a pick out just to get rid of him, at that point they're better off playing him at WAFL and keeping the pick

Basically was completely ruling out them trading a pick out to flog him off, GC are the only rebuilding team who can afford to do that crap (due to their excessive concessions)

One good thing about this year is that our fixture next year should be somewhat easier, so we’d want to be getting the balance right to make the most of getting another preseason into anyone under 21 or 22
