Didn't get to see the entire game, but what I did see reinforces to me that we've got a good one with Binnsy.

Just a natural footballer who seems to read the play beautifully, and gets into good position in transition racking up a shitload of footy on a regular basis. Not blessed with a lot of leg speed, but his stamina and reading of the play means that he's always involved in the game. Basically, he just works his arse off.

I reckon we'll see him debut during the 2nd half of the year.

It says something that he continues to rack up the ball each week in a position it is hard to do it.

Didn't watch the game.

Did we have Plowman, Young, Marchbank, Silvagni and Parks all in defence?

Some stats from Jack 26 disposals, 10 marks, and 5 inside 50s. Seems like a fairly attacking rebounding role going off those stats.

Dow 33 disposals, 5 marks, 6 tackles, 12 clearances, 11 inside 50s and a goal. Lead tackles, clearances and inside 50s for us. I've been reading how brilliant Fisher was on the ball. I'm seeing 39 disposals, 8 marks, 2 tackles, 3 clearances and a goal. No contested possession or efficiency stats to be had right now. Can someone explain why Fisher was brilliant and Dow wasn't?

It appears that Fisher played a decent spread game with his 8 marks, was on the ball but not really in the trenches much going off the 2 tackles and 3 clearances.

Dow's stats read like a superb attacking midfielder game but he's also lead the tackles. Hopefully I can still go back and watch this at some point to get some context.

At the ground, fisher one to come in if anyone from that showing.

Dow was ok, but as I’ve said each time I’ve seen him, he offers no different to Hewett, Kennedy or Cripps, just not as good.

Maybe at there best. There's no way Dow wouldn't have given us more than George over the last 6 weeks.

Need to reward good form.

All those guys played defence the whole game except Young. He started forward then went back after half time (swapped with Dom A).

Jack played pretty high up the ground and was intercepting alot. Definitely an attacking role though it helped that Sydney had no decent talls so nobody we really needed to lock down on.

Fisher was more damaging with his ball use then Dow. Both were onball but Fisher more a first receiver. He was more impressive though not sure how much it means as he won't get to play that role at afl level.

Seems Dow played a very contested game while Fisher played an uncontested game. This explains the difference in ball use.

I'd need to see the CP and DE stats.

Fish hunted ball like a man possessed in the first half- I no shit saw him make 3 efforts in one play, he was every where & had 26 (I think) playing mid & sweeping around the back of contest. Best I’ve seen him play.
Dow was mid and half forward, was good but not great - he held effort thru all 4 very well.
Did well up forward.
Both sprayed a couple they shouldn’t have. Fish hit up a couple very nice passes.
Fish was actually moving fast which made him look special, they linked a 1-2 which was probably the best play of the game - Fish laced it to from the boundary to Honey 30 out in front which he then butchered.
Opposition wasn’t great.

Fish was more contested than he usually is

If he's playing that sort of game, we need to see more tackles from him. Still, glad to hear the positives.

Dow set up a fair bit of play but most of it was for the Swans. These long hack kicks that result in turnovers instead of having team mates running past for handballs aren’t working at either level.
Our instruction often seems to be rush it to a pack contest we form around 30m from goal, and either mark or reap the benefit of where the ball spills, which is the part we're terrible about too often.

Today, Lemmey was playing the role McKay usually plays. It lacks an incredible amount of nuance, and seems to tire out our players more than the opposition. I don't understand why we do it as plan A.

Cincotta can look plenty slick at this level with his burst and flat kicking, but important to remember he will have rundown pressure and less space for him and his team mates at the next level.

He's yet to show he can respond well to that without completely chopping up his composure and disposal.
there are 22 guys in the seniors you could level that same claim against.
