Yeh ok. I know you know can’t get 50 if you fake a handball and they move but I presume you still have to go off your line for it to be play on.

The rule is - you can't milk a 50 from faking a handball.

1. He didn't even do that
2. The defender still can't tackle the guy to stop him getting the handball off when he has the mark

It's a caveat to the "Stand" rule, so we don't get stupid 50m penalties because a player on the mark took one step when the player with the ball faked a handball. Pretty sure it doesn't go as far as making a fake handball the equivalent of playing on.
