Binns really is an elite kick and excellent reader of the player.

Needs to get a run in the seniors after the bye, he just has to. Looks a natural out there.

Carlton goals are like buses. You wait an eternity for one and ... :)

Crocker is a solid bloke to have around our VFL team and kids !

O’Brien has been a bit of a liability even at this level
That's a different trend from the previous 3-5 VFL outings then, but there's a lot of different stuff happening tactically, and O'Brien tends to operate at a tempo that the AFL side struggles with (issues with body contact aside).

You've got Motlop and Honey regularly at stoppages, and Silvagni in defence, Hewett in working up touch, Young adding to the height problem in defence.

Hewett, Binns and Motlop prominent.

Scary watching stand alone second level team making us look ordinary tactically. We remain competitive through sheer ability. Still struggling to see why management backing in the coaching group.

Somewhat easier actually

They don't have continuity issues with an ever changing revolving door of ins and outs

Cohesion is one of the main ingredients to team success

This has actually been a pretty good game to watch.

Werribee are well drilled.

Binns has been excellent.

Hewett strong at the contest but that’s really all he’s got.

Fisher has been creative but steps himself into trouble too much and just doesn’t have that burst speed that would be give him a point of difference in AFL.

Motlop the same.

O’Brien weak at the contest and too inconsistent with his kicking.

Young too weak and a slow decision maker. I’ve given up on him as an AFL KPD.

Cowan I’m confident will be a gun general defender in the future.

Silvagni has saved a few goals. Wouldn’t be against him as a KPD at AFL level.

Hewett is coming back from a pretty bad concussion alongside general soreness, fatigue, and then his back and hand issues. See how he powers through in the second half.

Motlop is pretty worn down from 3 months in the AFL having to scramble way too much, and I think he should have been rested.

Silvagni won't have the required speed at AFL to consistently defend, particularly as a KPD.

Honey is being used at the stoppages, and is putting up 2016 David Cuningham numbers (not really a compliment).

Cow has been good down back, big Lem getting more involved every week, and really like HO'K's game - super competitive.

I like the move of JSOS to defence, but LOB once again just disappointing...continually gets shown up by an 18yo first year player on the other wing.

Regarding Hewett.

Where do you see him in the seniors?

He’s handball happy and does his best work as a low metres gained extractor. But we already have Cripps.

I personally can’t see him playing alongside Cripps, Kennedy and Dow. Who I rate as better in that role.

More point of difference.

IMO Hewett is an upgrade on Ed & needs to be used when that roll is necessary- which really shouldn’t be that often. Great defensive pressure but adds nothing offensively

This is close to my answer, I think he's offensively capable in terms of following up with overlap and can dispose well up to 40m by foot.

Don't think he's too slow for our side, I just think we haven't got the speed/endurance mix where it needs to be, hence why I keep putting O'Brien up as a half-forward option while having three wingers in the team.

If Martin and Cuningham can stay fit however, O'Brien needs to just find a way to get midfield targets with bold running then - if necessary - commiting to a marking contest to secure them.
