Joke's on you Werribee fans.
You live near a Sewage farm :)

Pretty galling loss tbh and I know it's only VFL but it is concerning how it seems our players in both tiers of footy have forgotten how to seal the deal/get the win :(

Binns and Cowan are the two we should see in the seniors post bye. Both have clear AFL talent. Binns has been excellent all season, owns his wing and deserves a chance. Cowan is tough, got some speed and a booming kick.
Would love Cowan to get to a Maynard/Quaynor level

Happy for him to be a bit of prick too, we need it

Why was Lewis young trying to be the spare at the stoppage? Mind blogging stuff

Not a bad effort against a top ender team, coughed up a winnable game considering the position we were in…

Werribee just seemed to have a better more fluent system in place overall when clearing positioning and transitioning, although our own defensive accountability was not great at times which allowed them far too much space/time…

Some good signs from the younger players, time developing in the reserves will benefit their overall games, Binns great again, if I’m Carlton I’m getting Ramshaw and Dozzi onto our list as Rookies end of seasons…

He played a half or a game there early this season in the ones and the decision was crucified because he couldn't compete in the air etc.

If there's a near unnacountable position on the half back like daicos then he could.do that in the ones but we don't really play with that role, haven't this season anyway in the ones.

Yeah we kinda do the reverse. Put the extra ahead of the ball and have them collapse back to the stoppage instead of behind the ball and running forward.
Yeah Fisher was the reverse Daicos, and he showed why he can't do that free role transitioning out of defence: he's too slow.

As far as I can tell, he's been relegated to whatever the **** we're getting Boyd to do.

The individual from the opposition id be most interested in having at Carlton is Barlow, their coach! Werribee are very well drilled for a stand alone side and anyone who can coach a team to 8 straight against AFL level talent is super impressive. Barlow often does some lower level special comments on SEN and the like and his footy IQ is excellent and he knows about doing it the hard way as he was plucked out of the VFL himself and then went on to forge a very decent AFL career. I would take him over most of our AFL assistants / development coaches any day of the week.

Absolutely. Was wondering how he would be in a support role though? Used to running his own program. Obviously a good thinker and has his charges well drilled.

Great profile for mine.

Great shout.

Get him in the hot seat...

Didn’t see the game but from the stats sheet Motlop with 8 tackles is a good performance, only the 1 goal but at least hit the scoreboard.

Binns does what he has been doing all year, and from stats alone should come in but have been saying that for 6 weeks.

Motlop was busy, but think he needed to do more at the level

Binns is close, but concerned that he may struggle with bigger bodies, but I would play him after the bye

Hewett most likely to come in after today

Any reason he can’t do what he did last year?
Because he was allowed to do that and little to no impact.
He was deservedly dropped for lack of intent & impact.
Hasn’t really offered much since (racked up big touches in one 2s game & played awesome for a half- but that hasn’t been seen again)
He had plenty of opportunity & was found wanting

Assuming Fisher, my belief is he was rushed in for round 1 when he wasn't quite right instead of slowly bringing him in via the VFL, and he's effectively been carrying his usual ankle concerns.

Fisher needs to be 95% or better to really pose a threat consistently in the AFL given his raw speed and endurance aren't really great for his size. And as speed and players playing leaner and leaner comes into vogue again, that number goes up.

He needs to be in a team where he can tick the ball over while talls and quicker players open up pockets of space for him to run into or kick into. If it was soccer, he'd be a small centre midfielder that thrives in high tempo, high possession play to unlock something via his distribution rather than run.

Watched the whole game and although the result was disappointing, to the right of screen there was a significant wind advantage and we were against it in the last so it was somewhat expectant that Werribee would come. We held on for quite a long time but eventually the dam wall broke.

Hewitt a solid in and under game with 9 tackles and several clearances. Did look a bit tired towards the end but think will be better for the run. Nothing spectacular from him, just did his role pretty well and was always able to get his hands above the content and a handball out when tackled even when you thought he wouldn't. Also had quite a bit of poise throughout the game which stood out.

Binns fantastic game. 20 possession to half time and was equal best on at that point. Lots of good possession and ball use with quick decision making a standout. Second half slowed down with only the 12 possessions as they looked to quell his influence.

Motlop had one of those almost games. About 5-10 times he almost did something amazing to break the game open but just didn't quite pull it off. Spent a lot of the game playing on ball and is reflected in his possessions and tackle count (19 and 8T).

Fisher looked great all game and continued off half back. Never stopped running and was picking up loose balls all over the place and always running by players offering the handball outlet. Was used a few times but not nearly enough however his effort to be available was impressive and really should have been used more. Really put the effort in again this week which is nice to see.

Carroll got involved throughout he game and had a few passages where he looks absolute class. The pendlebury comparisons ring true in these instances and to be honest, was one of his better games this year. Back to last years form of having more of an impact.

Cow looked good as well in the back line getting involved and bringing the running game again.

As a LOB fan I can unfortunately say he was pretty bad today. Kicking was awful with a few OOF and missing short easy targets. Turned the ball over quite a lot.

Young had a very good 3rd quarter where he was intercepting everything but the rest of the game looked like he was playing well below his ability and within himself.

Honey i thought was pretty good for his 11 touches and had a lot more influence than in previous weeks. Got up the ground and into a few centre bounces and had 5 clearances fro the game with 6 tackles.

JSOS had a better game with some typical heart and soul type defensive efforts again playing down back. But also his kicking at times was a bit off and could have been more polished.

O'Keefe looks a much better prospect when he is the number 1 ruck. Got involved around the ground

Really like Ramshaw too. Consitently been one of our best over the last month, has plenty of dash and likes to run through the middle of the ground. Wish i saw more of that in the ones!

Also Werribee are 3rd on the ladder, had won their last 8 games straight, averaged 60 points against and were playing at home on what looked like a narrow and hard ground to play. Happy for people to be disappointed but have some appreciation for the opponent too.
