I remember where I was on that Friday afternoon when Brady made the trade. Couldn't believe it had happened. Will never forget that moment.

I like a lot of this but I think we really need Ralphsmith and/or Fisher types to unlock Thomas and Sheezel. Fundamentally I think defence is by far our worst staffed section of the field now, and it would be remiss of us to not find a skerrick of draft capital for good experienced running defenders this off season.

We really need to find a way to inject at least 3 new defenders into our best 22. Ideally 4.

In terms of servicing immediate needs and creating competition for spots across the ground, I would distribute our draft capital along the following lines:

Pick 2 - Curtin
Pick 3 - Watson
NGA - Sanders

Pick 16 - Riccardi (with GWS 3rd rounder coming back)

R3 - Fisher
R3 - Stephens
R3 - Grundy

Yes and in one of those games he played for five minutes, had one possession and then broke his leg. IE Those stats are misleading and lower his averages significantly (ie by 2 or 3 possessions a game) because of that injury.

The stats I quoted didn't include that game.

Those stats of Comden I posted if a tall player hoping to be recruited in this years draft had those stats would you draft him ?

Clark should cash out now, his valuation on NM BF is currently in Dutch Tulip territory.

Nah last year was Dutch tulip territory.
This year I've got him down for a fourth rounder.
I'd still rather see him play round 1 at HBF than McDonald though.

I don't think we need Hunter but I do think we need a hard-nut with a bit of experience who can play in a medium defender role, and probably one who can be traded in for a third rounder or cheaper, because there needs to be more competition for spots in our defensive 6 in 2024, starting round 1.

Clark would at worst be our 10th-best player for next year between the ages of 24 and 34, and that's only if you rate him behind Tucker and McDonald.

We have a severe deficit of senior bodies who can compete for an entire game and Clark has enough talent and versatility to be worth the punt for a cheap price.

For me, I'd like to get Clark in our club. He has a lot of talent, but injuries stopped his momentum. He may have checked out at the Saints if they asked him to sign and he hasn't. Brady did say we'll get him this year and I think he will be with his mate LDU. Big upgrade on some players we have in the team. The Saints wanted a 2nd rounder last year but now we get him cheap.

I thought stkilda were after a first round pick for him last year that’s why we didn’t get him.
