Sincs definitely proves you cant lose hope to quickly.. I never saw it and look at him now. Wasn’t Lenny also a latish bloomer?? Memory failing meHe’s 23.
Sincs only came good around 25,26 years.
He's got the talent. We’ve seen it, and obviously the application as well as it was mentioned on here that he came back after pre-season in ripping nick.(pun intended.)
Just got to hope he’s past his injuries.
I’m not giving him up just yet.
Sincs was pretty much always good, just not "as" good. He’s 23.

Says no one everTip top stuff on this thread guys very enjoyable reading![]()
CryingI hope so. More confident that GC will trade for points over straight high picks but Bell is a nightmare to deal with. He makes Dodoro look reasonable and he knows that we are a bunch of amateurs who'll hand over 10 times more than he ever expected as long as he stares them down.

I hope we give him another year and a good crack. We're not blessed with a plethora of players with elite attributes who have shown they can play football. I saw some bits of some vfl games and thought while rusty he has shown some nice plays, tucking the ball under the arm and had some runs out of defence. He has had very bad luck with injuries sidelining him for 2 years, but I guess there is a limit to the time on the sidelines you will get before your contract is renewed.I'm losing hope now. Once you're over in that mid 20s range you have to jump players already in the side and clubs tend to prefer to put time into new kids.

We had too many players whose best position was hbf or wing back then too and Cho sentenced Acres and Sincs to the half forward role, which is very hard to play so he could play Newnes, Billings etc on wing. Billings in hindsight was going very well in the hf role but he had ptsd from missing so many goals so needed to move. It almost seemed like Cho would find a players best position and then decide to move them somewhere else because they played well thereHe was never broken down though. Like Acres Richo just had no idea about how to maximise him. He was awesome in his first couple of years and Richo found ways to make him less useful. It took a new coach running out of players to try him somewhere different to see what he could do. Richo was as creative as a potato.
Coff has all the skills to be a player it's injury that will make him a bust.
Thankfully the last 2 years have been very good drafts - Owens, Windy, Nas & Poo. (Plus others)
Clark and Coffield have really set the re-build back. Pretty unlucky that both top 10 picks from the same draft haven't gone on, but it is what it is. Injuries certainly played a part.
Add another 2-3 talented kids this year and we are starting to build a talent pool that can drive us back up the ladder long-term.
Clubs who got early access to significant players due to AFL bullshit this century. I probably missed some or got the years wrong.
Also a couple played it straight and were screwed by early bids, Bulldogs ( Ayce Cordy ),GC ( Bowes ).

Do you think re: Marvel that is because of size and shape of ground?Henry is a prime candidate to wither and die on the marvel wing as so many have done before him. He has no other strings to his bow except for wing at Optus which is the easiest place to play that position in the land. He’s worth a pick in the 20s but not for us. We need to avoid that one.
Montagna was definitely a late bloomer. Goddard took a few years too. On our current list, Daniel McKenzie (unfortunately injuries have probably cut down his career) went from whipping boy to just about the first one picked.Sincs definitely proves you cant lose hope to quickly.. Lyon knows a fair bit about the ground. I'd trust him to have a good idea when it comes to finding a role for players at Marvel.Henry is a prime candidate to wither and die on the marvel wing as so many have done before him. Hold the faith. He’s very well suited to the modern game. But all on him. Shame that the VFL is having its 28th bye of the year.I'm losing hope now. Once you're over in that mid 20s range you have to jump players already in the side and clubs tend to prefer to put time into new kids.
Yep, Lenny showed a lot of class early. But even a few years in, I’m not sure many saw what he would eventually progress to. That progression from HFF to Mid and absolute star was very quick.Montagna was definitely a late bloomer. Goddard took a few years too. On our current list, Daniel McKenzie (unfortunately injuries have probably cut down his career) went from whipping boy to just about the first one picked.
By memory, Lenny showed some special trait’s pretty early on. But this was a long time ago!
Second with a later pick back? Wonder if he garners interest elsewhere? Didn’t the (at the time) Geelong recruiter rate him at 1 in his draft year?Kmart gift card.
Are you sure? Thought he was out of contractJust signed a 2 year deal
