Someone on the bumbers thread said that paying $750 000 a year for Gresham would be the dumbest thing their club has done in a decade ( to which another immediately posted a picture of James Hird and the drug saga ). There is now an intermittent underlying conversation ( a bit like our chinese food chat ), about where in the top 10 dumb things, such a Gresham deal would land.

Speaking of, we have a joint called Kum Ling, not to be confused with Cameron Ling, that is a Chinese restaurant, further along the road is also a masseuse, so, do with that information as you will.

And Gresh would probably rank around their decision to trade for Shiel I'd assume, afterall they'd have a bigger warchest if they didn;t have that plodder in rehab and the VFL on an almost 7 figure salary.

As if we're keeping Jones, thought he was a lock to be delisted. Why keep him when we have Owens Pou Windy all to run through there, and now potentially Shiel to come in who's basically the same player? Won't be in our next premiership side so why persist even if he does turn his body around? Imagine if we keep him over someone like Coffield or D-Mac...

Having pick 13 , 31 and 50 is not going to change our list so you can see why we still have so many unlisted players - and the reason Greshams out the door.
The thing is having Clark and Coffield still not signed could mean they are offerings to get something Lyon wants.
Its going to be interesting with what they end up with at the end of trade and draft period.

Zak Jones is only 28, you guys are acting like he is 33...

The Shiel trade is one of the ones considered close in the debate.

His age isn't my issue. His lack of ability is.

North will be looking at trading both their 2024 gifted first rounders this year so they don't risk losing them next year.

I think that's the only way we'd get a first for Howard.

We'd then be able to offer that up with our first to try to move up the draft this year or we go into next year with two firsts in a good draft.

Sure about that? About half the league is looking for experienced key backmen right now, (including us shhhhhh) they don't grow on trees either.

Dougal has held down a key back post with two different clubs and is already an experienced senior player with finals experience, he's also very rarely injured and despite his whipping boy status here, very rarely gets a bag kicked on him. I would be very surprised if we weren't offered a mid FRDP at least in this seller's market.

But even if it's a late FRDP, I did a pick calculation last week and found that in terms of points, pick 17 + pick 13 is equal to pick 3. North could benefit more from slinging us their pick 3 and ending up with a mid FRDP and a ready to go key backman for the next 6 or so years, than they could doing a straight swap for a late round pick.

They've got a stack of young mids already who were high picks, and will probably be guns, but a massive hole at either end of the ground.

It can't only be about the future for the Roos, they've got a gun footy creche but are going to be smashed from pillar to post mercilessly for the next 5 years unless they get some decent seniors in their squad.

If they let Howard go to another team who'll pay a bit more, what other options do they have for key backmen trades? Anyone coming through in their squad?

I’m not racist but… Why is Thai food actually Chinese food in most of Australia?
I don't know if that's true but definitely is true in my city here in France. Thai, VN, Japanese, Korean - all run by Chinese and food has a distinctly Chinese flavour! Most French people don't like spicy food and probably wouldn't even know the difference.
