I’m still livid that we traded Pick 22 in the 1991 Draft for Lawrence Bingham. Still paying for that trade.

Pick 100 in a draft for Bingham would still be the worst deal ever.
I'm sure he's a nice guy, never met him. But I don't think I've seen a player that bad when walking past suburban football grounds by chance.
You know how you get the occasional older player who raises your average age by a fair bit? He was like this vacuum of shyteness that dropped the average talent of the entire 22 by about 15%.
And anyone who thinks I might be exaggerating didn't watch him closely enough. He'd get a handball receive from a metre away on his own, and find some way to s#!+ the bed.

Prefer not to trade for Dow & Jordan, they've had enough season's to prove themselves, just like a few of our lads that haven't.
Liam Henry is the correct one. Was pick 7 & is very talented. He probably had too much expectation & exposure on him over in the West. At 22 y.o, he's ready to perform.

Don't mind having a few low cost bets on talent that still has age on their side. You can use it to really cherry pick with evidence of what you want on your list. I certainly wouldn't lock either away on long contracts.

Cooper Sharman is highly regarded around the league, and at the Saints. General consensus is he will breakout next season and be a 50+ goal a season type.

Billing’s is definitely gone, lots of clubs interested - with good reason too, I think he’d be a good pick up for any decent side. I think he’ll end up at the Crows.

Suspect it's only interest from interstate clubs looking for a space filler. WC also mentioned a while back.

To me the whole problem with Pelchen was his blind plan for draft picks.
He might put out a target of 3 first round picks.
But they weren't looking at the actual players in the draft, just the picks. KPI right? One early first rounder might have been worth more than the 3 late ones.

On Bont, he was a half back flank.
If we drafted a HBF this year and SOS told us he was going to turn into a midfielder.....MELT MELT MELT .

Bont was an outside mid and goal kicker as well though, I think they put him down back late in his draft year to round him out. I remember he bolted up the draft when he had a school game where he had like 52 disposals and 7 goals off CHB though. It became like an urban myth where everyone seemed to have seen this kid at a random school game.

Lethlean designed rebuilt this list and got promoted. The whole board who have approved every stupid decision all the way through have barely changed as well. Not sure that Sos is the greatest appointment and Gubby has been there for ages and must take responsibility for a lot of the trades that we've cocked up.

But once again, you pine on about Carltons list....which SOS was the builder of...

Which is why you don't unload him on the cheap. He's come off his worst year and replacing him won't be likely with a second round pick. Probably the only bonus we get is some salary cap space which apparently isn't an issue.

Look we all want that year where he had 60 shots at the sticks but that's prob not coming again
Cant see a spot for him up fwd and he's just depth now, doubt he would want to play at Sandy for the rest of his career

The club is doing him a solid. If he stays with us, he plays out his contract in the reserves before his career prematurely ends. Give him a chance for a fresh start to turn it around. From all reports he’s a good kid, happy for the club to go out of their way to give him one last shot. Probably clears 500k from our cap too.

No he didn't he was a list manager. He balanced contracts and probably had some say in drafting and recruiting but not his primary job. Both GWS and Carlton made heaps of mistakes and consistently fell short. GWS lost heaps of players and over contracted. Carlton paid some very ordinary players superstar money.

I'm not even a SOS hater but very cautious. Toce has proven to be a solid pick up so far. Gubby and SOS have to prove themselves. Haven't seen much to suggest that either are great list managers yet.

He's an awful kick but his pace is good and he hits the ball moving. Worth a throw at the wickets and hope. Lyon likes his mids to be able to run and spread and wants pace around the ball. He ticks a few boxes.

He was no half back flanker his highlights were . I think giving dal the push probably clouded our judgement, billings was a safe consensus pick that no one could fault.
