and we end up with a forward pocket who can't kick a set shot from 40m, time to move on and get something for him now because next year he could be worth nothing.
and going by this years form he could well be worth nothing.
Surely with 2 round one picks we can secure something , lets see how it turns out.
The last couple years have been good.
so far sounds good
Henry
Dow
2 x 1st round picks
Values Hunter Clark plus steak knives as pick 17How about this?
Shiel comes for a couple of token picks
Gresh goes to Essendon for Band One
We get pick 13 compo
We sell that pick on to North with their lost love Hunter "LDU BFF" Clark and steak knives player or pick for their compo pick 3.
Does it work legally?
North are loading up on gun kids, and they still hold pick 2, but they need list balance - Clark could blossom under Clarkson and they get their second pick downgraded 10 spots. Hunter played 18 AFL games this year, hes entering his peak years and was a pick 7, all that talent is still there, he is ready to go and can play multiple positions. He contrasts nicely in a team loaded up with teenagers.
Works for us. We don't have any more time to waste on Hunter, our window is sooner than North's. We get Sanders or McKercher plus our original pick 12 for Wilson or O'Sullivan or whomever.

How else you getting 1st round comp for Gresh?Shiel is cooked. What's wrong with us going after absolute duds![]()
We take them to the table or re-sign Gresham - who we want to keep. What's the bet that Adrian Dodo changes the Shiel fee to a second round draft pick last minute lol
I don't care enough about it to bother, but Dow and Shiel are absolute spuds and we shouldn't be going anywhere near them lolHow else you getting 1st round comp for Gresh?
It’s the first round pick that’s the reason to bother and renting Shiel for a season to provide us a good option. A different midfield option for it.I don't care enough about it to bother, but Dow and Shiel are absolute spuds and we shouldn't be going anywhere near them lol
Wouldn't be fussed if Gresham left for a packet of chips. Replacing duds for duds isn't a strategy that'll move us up the ladder unfortunately
That’s fair but I’d rather think of a way to get a first round draft pick then a packet of chips. Although I do like chips. Mmm chips.I don't care enough about it to bother, but Dow and Shiel are absolute spuds and we shouldn't be going anywhere near them lol

I'd prefer the chips over Shiel tbhThat’s fair but I’d rather think of a way to get a first round draft pick then a packet of chips. Although I do like chips. Mmm chips.
Lol but Shiel is how you get pick 13. Don’t think of Shiel as the Gresham replacement.I'd prefer the chips over Shiel tbh
I don't think George has figured that part out yet [emoji1787][emoji1787][emoji1787] he's blinded by shiel and Dow.It’s the first round pick that’s the reason to bother and renting Shiel for a season to provide us a good option. A different midfield option for it.
It’s a great deal
I’d say they would be happy to get Shiels salary off their books.Struggling to make sense of this Gresham/Shiel suggestion.
It doesn't sound like Essendon really need the cap space for next year. If this is true, the idea of them shipping Shiel for nothing, giving us a free pick 13 and paying Gresham $100k+ over market value makes absolutely no sense.
I'm not sure we keep 13 in this deal - but I'm not sure why we would trade it to them as the deal is basically Gresham for Shiel at that point. If that was the case why wouldn't we just take band 2 (pick 19) or match band 3 (pick 33) and keep Gresh. We could always just trade a second for Shiel if we really want him.
Unless we see Shiel + 27 as the better option compared to only receiving 33 on it's own as we want him out the door and won't match.
Not according to their boardI’d say they would be happy to get Shiels salary off their books.
Imagine comparing Shiel and Dow to 4 players who were delisted a day after the season ended.I don't think George has figured that part out yet [emoji1787][emoji1787][emoji1787] he's blinded by shiel and Dow.
Whom mind you are both light years ahead of players like Connelly, bytel, Adams and peris that we just delisted

It's not happening. At least the packet of chips is guaranteed.Lol but Shiel is how you get pick 13. Don’t think of Shiel as the Gresham replacement.
Like you said you can’t replace duds with duds that’s why we need pick 13.
Now excuse me while I go get a packet of chips.
You have to give something to get something. Not according to their board
I tried a conversation. Didn’t go down well
