I'd be trying to get him with our future 2nd - sell it to them as we slip back and next years draft is less compromised.I was hoping our pick 30 would do it

I don’t see the downside in taking on Sheil as a salary dump for next year if we have the room.
Would much prefer seeing sheil out there than Clark and/or Ross. Offers more power than any other “full time” mid and improves the mix. I don’t think we can keep rolling out Seb, Steele and Crouch (all one paced, average by foot and vanilla) as our most represented mids (all one paced, average by foot and vanilla) with a splash of Gresh’s lunacy coming out of stoppage to spice things up.
Bring in Henry, Dow and Sheil whilst keeping two top 25 picks is a good outcome and improves our midfield in both grades. All our project players at Sandy need a performing midfield to develop which they haven’t had for years. Seriously though, how is an Isaac Keeler meant to improve at Sandy when they get pumped out of the middle most weeks.
That’s probably what should do it.I was hoping our pick 30 would do it
If that's the case and Brad has put noses out of joint, good! im all for it. The club has been the nice club for too long so if that means a player or two rated wants to go then means they don't want to put in the world. Here’s something for you yoda, I’ve heard a few players aren’t a huge wrap for Brad, Dedoro was given the opportunity to fall on his sword and that your cap space is widely off the mark and includes sunk money tied up with the new CBA.

Think Morris was meaning pick 19 for us
Basically Gresham for Henry then.
I'm not sure I'd consider that a win to be honest.
Mate you might have paid this months rent but next months is due, your mob are talking up smoke and mirrors in typical Didoro fashion. If that's the case and Brad has put noses out of joint, good! im all for it. Regarding the CBA increase tc. That is factually incorrect. It's pretty widely known Essendon don't include clauses to align with a CBA in our contracts.
Gresham can play and can hurt teams when he is on , but a 22yr who has speed and can kick is a better prospect who has far greater upside.

Howard is as likely, if not more, to play every game next year as our starting full back as he is to have Cordy overtake him for the entire season.
I'd be trying to get him with our future 2nd - sell it to them as we slip back and next years draft is less compromised.
The difference is now Henry can pick 30 plus possessions in a game - 3 times this year , where Gresham never has in 8 yrs.Henry isn't good kick. He's probably like a younger not as good Brad Hill this year. Been a disappointing player until half way through 2023 when he became an outside runner. Anything over pick 20 should be off limits for him IMO. Gresham was the better player by far at the same age.
Cordy played himself into that position and deserved to keep it for that game. But if both have an interrupted pre season, I think Howard will win it back. It's a great position to be in to have 2 capable full backs to pick from when many other sides are struggling to find one.Even though he was fit for thr finals and didn't play?
It would he nice if say Van Es was able to step up with another preseason or send Caminiti down back and see how he goes.
You're probably right though
We hope Gresh got us band 2 and pick 19 is a future gun. What if we do fall back?
Yeah , Perkins wants out by the sounds and a few of the senior guys would love to move if they could. Here’s something for you yoda, I’ve heard a few players aren’t a huge wrap for Brad, Dedoro was given the opportunity to fall on his sword and that your cap space is widely off the mark and includes sunk money tied up with the new CBA.
We may well fall back, the difference between 2022 and 2023 could be quantified by the easier draw in 2023.What if we do fall back?
I think I’d be as much chance of playing full back ahead of Doogs next year than Caminiti or Van Es.Even though he was fit for thr finals and didn't play?

Greshams on the outer because Lyon insists on hard running endurance for his defense and Jade just doesn't have it - I 'm surprised how Higgins is coping.
A lot to play out this trade season - interested in what Clark does , if he stays he is going to need to really knuckledown this preseason.
Slip back? But I’ve already booked in to get my Saints Premiers 2024 tattoo!I'd be trying to get him with our future 2nd - sell it to them as we slip back and next years draft is less compromised.

And with the introduction of the mid season trade period, I don't think we need to move one key back so quickly this off season. Hold them and if we are in a situation mid season where Cordy has hit a strong vein of form, we can move one of them on then to a team in the window who needs a defender.
Not sure what he's worth to be honest. It seems like a distraction to me but perhaps the deal that gets Billings there and Shiel to us means that both players get a new club and more game time. If Billings is on the outer and the Saints want a mid for a couple of seasons it might be a way for both to save face.
Probably got a doze of reality at his exit interview and wisely identified st Kilda as a good landing spot. That fits perfectly with what everyone on here assumes, he needs to find a home.knowing the Shiels on a personal level, Dylan approached St.Kilda
Ill leave that here for you mate

Big losses big trouble brewing, they looked about as flat as it gets.Yeah , Perkins wants out by the sounds and a few of the senior guys would love to move if they could.
