Number 6 I see the hype, looks like Tim English in his best season. Carled I am interested to see his size actually, seems to compete along with sticky mits and has an unusual set shot that seems quite effective. Sam Allen looks like an athlete a little soft at the contest but some good attributes reminded me of Deledio in some ways.

Kalani White next to Jeff White and Neitz (193cm). Now, lets hope that he can actually play. Knowing with Melbournes recent luck with NGA and Father/sons the AFL will change the rules and gift him to the new tassie team.

Melbourne supporters shouldn't assume anything. If this fella nominates his academy club there is SFA Melbourne can do about it, same as what happened with Blakey choosing Sydney over NM. Hodges son could do the same.

neither white nor Hodge will have people chasing them anyway

They will nominate to whichever club tells them they are a chance, neither would attract a bid in the first 3-4 rounds - rookies at best. White hasn't performed as well, but talls with upside get overrated. Hodge is a mid ranked u17 player in QLD, and while he is extremely tough in how he goes about it, his ball use and decision making are below par.

I think there are 3 more Hodges though, so the odds are in their favour to produce one first round pick!

6 Academy kids are from Vic Country (Duursma, Hibbins-Hargreaves, J.Lindsay, Rongdit, Onley, Hetherton)

4 Academy kids are from Vic Metro (Burton, Emmett, Greeves, Duff-Tytler, Ludowyk)

Not like they would be taking over these games. Probably automatic selections already

They can play in those teams but they just don’t get full access to them. The afl funds them not the clubs

there is absolutely nothing elite about the Lions academy pathway in Brisbane. They would be better served playing club footy and picking a state u18 side based on the performances at club level

so having access to elite pathways facilities and coaching is not beneficial ? These kids would be miles behind kids in other states if they just played local footy all the way up to u18.
The very fact that these 2 academies have been put in place and suddenly there’s all this talent popping up out of the state just proves you’re wrong.
