exactly, been looking on AFL to see if he released his phantom. Only his rankings.

ESPN has released theirs too, top 50

NHH, Dovaston, Schubert, Lindsay, Farrow all at 11-16. If any of them get picked by pick 8, only then will the likes of Grlj/Cumming/Sharp will slide

Tigers are not trading 3 or even 4 for the excessive 10+22+F1( which was our Zerret offer), so my dreams of 10+22 won't happen. So much for claims of "not great draft" & next years F1 having greater value.

At pick 22, we may have likes of Marsh-Oskar-Jevan-Barker-Pickett who are all rated from 17-28

Would like to see us get a 3rd pick and still hoping atleast GWS feels desperate to jump us and offer their 12+35 for our 10 if they have eye on Dovaston who I have not been as taken in by. Watched him in BoxHill game and he stood out, missed a lot of goals but think will be around avg at AFL level.

Prefer Pickett for Small fwd role or even Kickett with a late pick who is same height as Wiz.

Interesting that it says Sharp is most like Newcombe, isn't that what we need that? someone to help newcombe, especially now with loss of worpel? add that to the fact he is more afl ready than few others, although people say he may still need a year in reserves. They all have different qualities, all of Cumming, NHH, Donvaston have good qualities.

I don't know about that.

I think it more likely that there are 30 or more players with some AFL traits, but very few elite plsyers.

It is one of those drafts where you might get very similar output out of a player chosen at 10, and one chosen at 25.

This suits us somewhat...
Top end is lacking, and most of the rest would be +2nd round picks in a decent draft.

I agree that there are still +20 or so players who show something worthwhile putting through our development program.

Dyson Sharp moves like Craig Treleven, but lacks the elite kicking.
- He also has good hands in congestion and a strong presence at contests.

He could turn out to become an elite workhorse type inside mid who can also hit the scoreboard, but that will depend on whether he can maintain his U18 and SANFL standard at AFL level.

reading between the lines, Cal seems to think we are most into cummings for first pick and greeves for our second. others that come into consideration are sharp, farrow, lindsay, barker, thredgold (not sure if anyone here knew we had interest in tall defender).
It’s Sam Cumming you dumb arse, you haven’t stuffed up any of the other names and you even have Greeves as a correct plural name

I went to both. We went without when i went to private school because mum thought it important. My sister didn't go, we couldn't afford it.

Aside from the top end schools where there are a lot more silver spoons, I don't think there is much in it really.

My sister and I have turned out much the same

Not like the UK where the gap between 'public' (posh) schools and state schools is more stark.

As for footy, give me the kids with a comprehensive development program any day.
Up here in Brissy our son goes to the same private school as Cooper Hodge ( a year younger ) If he wasn’t good at footy I would have preferred him go to a state school but the development program he gets through school is significantly better than what he would get elsewhere. Two training sessions and three gym and athletic development sessions a week, 10 competitive games a year coached by Josh Dunkley Head Coach and Luke Hodge assistant. It’s not impossible for a kid to make it going to a state school but they would really need to be one out of the box to get picked.

I hope you arnt implying Treleven was an elite kick? He was my most frustrating player

Whichever way it goes I think we'll get a great kid that we'll be happy with. Irrespective of who I like at 10 (Farrow/Grlj) I trust the club as they know far better than I do what some players might be capable of/who the club needs.

As for trading back, we wont be doing that. We've already got 3-4 players earmarked at 10 so at least one of them will be available.

The only interest will be if we use 22, and on who!, or if we're successful in using it and a F1 to trade down. We've put it out there, depends if anyone bites.

Edit: Please don't ask about who we're keen on at 10. They've all been covered ad nauseum in the previous pages.
Who are we keen on at 22 + f1?😉

Not for mine. Much better quality available at that pick.
The Dees are being linked to him at 7/8, which will increase likelihood of Grjl being available at our pick.. If Blues don’t move their pick which Twomey suggested they most likely won’t and a Dean bid swallows their pick Grjl and/or Farrow will be available for us at our pick. That’s a golden opportunity to pick a high end talent that suits our needs.. We just need to not do something dumb like select Greeves when these elite talents are up for grabs..

Why are people so off Greeves. Don't really understand the perceived weaknesses. Sounds like an inside mid bull with much better than average foots kills, especially for that position.

If the Tiges don't take Grlj - which seems likely at this stage, what are the chances of the Bombers & Dees not calling out his name? I've heard they're both keen on replenishing midfield stocks. Sharp seems to almost be a lock to go to the Bombers, with Cumming probably following. Rumours the Dees are interested in Nairn at 8, so if they want a midfielder at 7, could they end up with either a Farrow or a Greeves?

Starting to think we might have a genuine shot at the sizzler

Richmond have been linked with Robey, Taylor and Grlj.
Essendon are linked with Robey, Sharp and Cumming.
Dees have been linked to Dovaston, Farrow and most recently Nairn.
There seems to be a reasonable chance that Grlj makes it through to us if Richmond don't select him. Melbourne may pounce though.

I just remind myself that we have a whole team of people who know more about these kids than I do.

Do they always get it right, of course not.

But they know a hell of a lot more than some on here who watch a few highlights and blurt out “I hope we don’t waste a pick on him” or “He will be a bust”

Thats not even going into how some of these kids go in interviews.
Some kids may actually have more talent that others, but just might be complete head cases.

I am bias toward kids who went to public school. In everything in life. I could never be someone in charge of hiring people. Xav, SKEVS, Carey.... sorry, you're not being hired.
As someone who went to Assumption College because my parents sacrificed everything for me and my brothers,
