Don’t know if anyone else noticed this yesterday but as good as a game nas had he wasn’t running two ways and pressuring blokes as much as he usually does. Doesnt look like someone who cares about winning and the club and more looked like someone only caring about his own stat line yesterday with a lot of cheap touches too. Dont get me wrong he still played amazing but his lack of defensive effort worried me as although it isnt one of his strengths he is usually better than that.
There were parts of that game where he was clearly fatigued and out of breath.

If Nas is truly homesick, why isn't Adelaide an actual option? Walking into a premiership contender is not a bad 2nd option if the first club can't get it done. Makes a mockery of "homesick"

Players have too much power, and we're getting slapped in the face both ways now.

Generational talent going home to be with mummy at 23 years of age is peak St.Kilda
To each their own but we did the whole "Josh Battle is a cuck" thing last year, not sure we need to be going down the "NAS is a mummys boy" thing, especially yet when hes not actually left.

People won’t like my opinion but if we are confident we have left no stone unturned in our offer to Nas and he still decides to go home then good riddance.

No one player is bigger than the club.

Saints have a history of champion players who we think are our saviours instead of champion teams.

I’d love for him to stay but I’m not crying about someone that leaves and doesn’t want to be a saint.
With you here. If our list management has done everything possible to keep him, and it falls through, then thats that. Can't do much more.

Gotta find the right trade value there, and I'd start with telling Nas that we'll work with both Port and Crows for the best offer, not just one or the other. If he wants to go home then he can, but we'll decide where that is.

Look I have been critical of the club for their ham fisted way they broadcast the huge war chest they have and the offer to TDK.
But in terms of accommodation to his needs the club has bent over backwards for him. All the support in the world. Don't know what else they could do.
I really honestly don’t care if he leaves as long as we’re well compensated. We won’t be so where should the blame go ?.

Port are doing nothing wrong, why wouldn’t they chase a gun young local and why would they pay more than the afl system demands.

I hope as a club we learn a few things from this, I guess we’ll see.

If Nas is truly homesick, why isn't Adelaide an actual option? Literally walking into a premiership contender.

Players have too much power, and we're getting slapped in the face both ways now.
It’s irrelevant where he wants to go.

The cost won’t change. It’s still on either club to get there.

Everyone bricking it over C4 and the update is there is no new update to what we knew.

He then literally says if a trade can be done.

Guess who that’s on?

Hint: not us.

Given you said there is confidence in the club over the last 48 hours, hopefully that means Williams has realised Port can't do a trade. A man can (delusionally) dream.

Why is everyone going mental? Did one poster say he wants to go home and now everyone has lost there minds?
Everyone is desperately readiung into everything.

He played well so hes going/staying.
He didnt sing the song loud so hes going/staying.
Pisces is in a Sagitarius moon so hes going/staying.

I dont hate it tbh. makes for a fun thread.

I reckon Port are freaking out that they've missed him. That's where these updates are coming from, the c4 quote and Davies. "He really wants to come we promise we can do a deal"

Unfounded optimism rising.

I’d imagine it’s something that has been said.

That’s part of negotiating with agents.

My man I don't think our boy Stav knows anything, if you track his post history, his opinion and 'sources' change direction more than the Melbourne wind

Hopefully a totally uncompromised draft.

Starting this year.

If Father-Son is abolished so should all the unfettered access to the Northern Academies and the NGAs.

The AFL can’t just abolish Father-Son without reforming the other anomalies in the draft.
1000% this

Correct. You should pay absolutely 0 attention to me.

I am very good at making things up in advanced and then the media jump on big footy and run with it.

Doubt it happens this year - would have to give all the list managers notice yada yada yada 🙄

I agree, it's not on us. All the Port supporters saying "walk him to the PSD", "uncontracted, his value drops" are delusional. Port are over a barrel too, they either need to send away Butters and Bergman or Berry to get 3-4 1st round DPs required for us and themselves, or rely on the AFL to waive the 4 year rule - which the AFL will only do if St Kilda are compensated adeqautely as a result.

Re: the destination, it's relevant to me as a fan processing this outcome and him as an opposition player.
If he's so keen to go home, and Port are barrelled as much as we are, why isn't Adelaide realistically spoken as an option then? The homesickness comes across as disingenuous if he's not actually entertaining the Crows as an option
