Don’t be so sensitive, I’m just trying to work out where you’re getting your info from.

Do they know that you pass on any info onto a public fan forum?
Far from sensitive.

Of course they do. As long as I didn’t name them, they were fine.

  • Be as vague as possible when commenting
  • Insinuate that you have knowledge by saying such things as "I have heard", "A source told me", etc etc
  • Talk as if you are part of the club "The club is..." "The club knows..."
  • Change your opinion/stance to match whatever the news of the day is
  • Tell people that you have been historically right on past events - don't show evidence, just tell them.
  • Spend 20+ hours a day on big footy and post as much as possible - this makes tracking your post history and grabbing receipts a genuine chore
Spoken by a master who trolled everyone on Friday 🙄

Would be a fascinating conundrum if NAS did sign with the saints on big money long term to secure the money but with a view to force his way out later on, then the next TV rights deal went dramatically backwards meaning he couldn’t get out of the saints unless he took a major pay cut

Afternoon. Back again after mainstream confirmed my Leek Aleer news.
Windhager still unsigned as we approach round 22... In career best form.
Windhager camp has been infuriated by the clubs treatment of one of their own NGA boys. From the lowballing offers to the botched NAS presentation. Marcus is a loyal young man who may still stay, but it is fair to say the List and Recruitment team at the club have operated appalling in their treatment of him.

On Nasiah: Intel suggests he is leaning towards leaving, and Nas' teammates are of the belief it will be the crows he elects to nominate, not the power.
Club clearly, still has a few weeks to change his mind.
WHY have they treated Windhager like that? Would have though he was one of the easy lock aways but nah Saints doing Saint things.

Im going to hate that a club like Hawthorn could go, oh, we need a defender - let's get Battle and Barrass. Following year, we need a mid, let's get Butters. What's next, Thilthorpe in 2027?

Big clubs gonna stay big, nepo clubs still on the tit and we are overpaying for TDK and losing our best player for 2 decades.

I'm going all chicken little now...

It's a catch 22. Look on the way up and players want in. Start to fall backwards and everyone thinks you suck and no amount money attracts them to you.

If you can create a perception of momentum it gets you players. We got Henry over from Freo when he thought we were heading towards a serious finals side.

Genuinely not an ounce of me thinks Nas is leaving...at least for now

All the signs have been positive:
  • NWM has personally said the pull home isn't as strong
  • Ben Williams said months ago that if he was a betting man NWM would probably stay. Then it suddenly switched up when NWM started playing like a top player in the comp. Coincidence?
  • Absolutely no reason for NWM to sign now. There is no benefit to him. Assuming he continues this form, he may leave money on the table. There's no possible negative effect for him between signing now and signing post-season, only positives
  • Bergman looked all but gone from Port. Had interest from many clubs on huge money but rumoured to prefer St Kilda and bought a house in Hampton. Suddenly re-signs for 2 years to take him to free agency the same week it was reported St Kilda were confident NWM would stay - hence not having any trade capital for Bergman - likely for the same tenure. Coincidence?
  • Neither Adelaide club has close to the required trade capital unless they trade a required player
  • Every journo has said that they would lean toward NWM staying
  • Joey Montagna has had a smug look on his face every time NWM comes up on First Crack - each time hinting that he thinks NWM stays
  • Mason Wood said at a function in May that he's super confident NWM will stay
  • Tex Wanganeen must be super confident that he'll be on the Saints list next year if he's willing to play VAFA over returning to Port Melbourne

this is all just off the top of my head

The only genuine reason for thinking NWM is leaving is because its round 21. But that's immediatlely countered by the argument that Ben Williams is just playing the waiting game for St Kilda to cough up
- NAS has said he does miss his family

- do you reckon ben Williams is gonna say he’s gonna leave ?

- Jounalists are now starting to be swayed towards him leaving

- Adelaide and port wouldn’t be chasing him if they didn’t think they could get a deal done

- Not sure what tex playing vafa over port Melbourne has anything to do with joining st kilda

- Mason wood said it in may. It is now August

Cool story bro

If SOS and the club have stuffed this by mucking around Nas/Windy and co with initial lowball offers honestly just shut the doors.

Hasn’t it been reported that in their second year it was Windy, Mitchito, Nas and first year Phillipou the first ones back to training and setting the standards?

Why would you f**k with that

This just isnt at all helpful.

I dont even speak with my parents anymore, if id been drafted at 18 i would have preferred to go interstate.

You know how much relevance that has to Nas or any other player.

Absolutely none.

Under the current system he can ask for a trade for whatever reason he likes, he hasnt done that and if he did we dont know anything about his personal circumstances to give him shit for it.

This is exactly the sort of stuff that sucks when it comes to supporters.
My opinion.
My emotions
( and probably those of many in here)

I don’t particularly care if it’s helpful or not. Nothing I say will have any bearing on things.

It’s time. Make a decision.
And don’t cripple the club’s opportunity to keep its own players and attract more in the future.

Have the offers to Windy improved or are they still lowballing him?

Also, the Nas stuff is funny. ITKs think Port, now you come in from the clouds to say teammates think crows. No one knows anything for sure, it's incredible.
Nas’s contract would be holding things up surely. I hope we keep him. He is not always polished but plays the game the right way and at an intensity we can lack as a squad.

Can’t seem to reply to your post - don’t know if that means I’m blocked or whatever.

But in case you hadn’t noticed, the “vibe” in this place is, understandably all over the show and I don’t need you to be the arbiter of my thoughts and emotions.

Cut the moralising - every single poster is viewing this through their own lens. As are you.

The situation with Windy is pretty weird, whatever the hell it is. #concerning
I find it hard to believe this thought that the club doesn't value him. Sure, he's not an $800k player lol, but Ross speaks most weeks about his value to the team. Does whatevers asked of him.

I don't believe that thing about the club not seeing him as best 22, he clearly is. And Ross clearly loves the guy.

Now I'm no gambling man but my money is on NAS leaving... into the Knicks to win the Eastern Conference finals, Seattle Seahawks to win their NFL division and Hahn Ka Chief to place at the Mongolian Horseback Archery Championships (which I have good info on) for $100 at 275-1.
Hoping I'm wrong though.

Maybe Windy's camp see him as worth more than he is.

If it emerges that Windy’s been shafted and with it, an indirect knock-on effect for Nas then I’ll be staring down the barrel of my 30 year membership reaching its quiet conclusion.

There’s only so much institutional mismanagement one can stomach in a lifetime.

There were parts of that game where he was clearly fatigued and out of breath.
I said it preseason, Nas doesn't have the fitness base to play full time mid. He is often fatigued but its probably not as obvious in defence. He goes on plenty of lightning fast long runs so its not that unusual to spend petrol tickets briefly.

I suspect that a bigger tank is still coming, which is another reason why he's yet to reach his full potential. Having a crack at the midfield on a more full time basis will probably show him what he needs to improve on.

Having said that, he's very much a burst player who will need to improve on his repeat sprints. Defenders can get away with it more than midfielders.
