25 pages behind again in a flash, but saw a couple things leaning to naz leaving,i think fox sports and something else claiming he will be advised to leave, who knows if that crap has legs

but is it time to start putting together our trade packages etc?

im thinking that i want him to go to crows of the two,i hate crows more than port, but this is my reason why=turdburgers from 17 other clubs are going to be laughing at us,so while we lick our wounds and try to maximize our trade bounty lets share some of our pain, send naz to an outfit that already has their shxt together, lets give the cats pies dogs and hawks some headaches, laugh at the saints while the crows towell you up by 10 goals in a final you cxxxx, with naz pinpointing fogarty and thilthorpe repeatedly,i truly couldnt give a rats ass if an interstate team wins the gf when we are not contending, even though the crows are the interstate team i dislike most

bonus to this is port wallowing in pity as complete losers for plenty of time to come, hopefully butters leaving on top of missing naz

as for the trade,i dont know, soligo rachele and a couple dalrymple special picks, crows first and F1?should land before 30,thats his strong suit, give him the ammo

alternatively bergman whitlock berry and 2026 F1,or bergman whitlock and 2 F1,or butters gets to essendon or richmond somehow and we get those 2 top 10 first rounders and whitlock,

any of those would be good enough to put away PSD talk at least

On other subjects:

1. Collard to West coast for late first round/early second round pick
2. Steele to West coast for late first round pick
3. Aleer ($550k a year for 3 years) to saints for 2nd round pick
4. Marshall to Geelong for late first round pick

The net result is 2 late first round picks + a first from Nas trade.
Could potentially go into the draft with 4 first round draft picks + TDK + Aleer + Bergman or Butters + Berry

Very busy off-season..
I honestly don't think Collard is worth either of those picks

100 pages behind, how are we all feeling?
Actually, somewhere between about pages 85 and 120 we all went into our personal feelings about the situation in great depth. It was quite touching and a real forum bonding experience.

You should read those pages and get across it, you'll thank me afterwards......

You must be a masochist..

Yeah I get that feeling but I don't think the club can lose him for nothing and Port know that, so if there's one minute left in the trade period then I think SOS has to agree to whatever's on the table.

I hear you, I guess we're damned if we do - damned if we don't.

It's the not knowing as of now what it's going to look like in either direction that's causing anxiousness at the moment!

Yeh thats fair, again, id prefer a US system where players can just get traded so when we say "Bergman, Berry and a first" Port can just make them all go, unfortunately we dont have that system.

To be clear about Bergman and 1 FF. If its 6.55pm on deadline day and its clear Port CANT make anything else work, theres no third party coming to help and no other players want in then id say we blink. Its not prepoustroualy low, by that point we will have courted Bergman etc etc. By that point we lose more and we potentially burn Nas by not being reasonable. You can debate that point if you want, i also wouldnt lose sleep if we said no to it. Its my floor trade and i hope we demand and get more.
Totally disagree that it's not preposterously low. It is. Bergman and a FF for a top 3 in the comp elite talent that can play pretty much anywhere. And that FF could be anywhere. Might be 15 or even 20 after all the NGA and FS bullshit. No farkin way. Bergman is not even close to elite. A grader - maybe. Still not proven. So him and a FF that could be anywhere is like offering a small packet of chips for a steak and veges.

So port potentially have a top two nga prospect next year if the afl grant them access. If they were to trade out all their pick they could match a bid for him. Might need to come into their thinking

Collard is worth a junk pick at the moment. Given his performances I think clubs would see him as more speculative than when he was drafted.

What concerns me with collard is his pretty ordinary ground ball skills. Looks miles off a crumbing forward at the moment. Looks more Brad Hill without the tank than a genuine small forward at the moment.

The smartest deal from Nas’s POV would be to sign 2+6 or 2+8 on maximum coin. With the option to leave after 2. That way if he does leave in 2 they have significant leverage over the SA clubs in that negotiation, as to some extent the terms are set. As a result:
  • maximum leverage
  • guaranteed money at his peak value
  • clear path to get home

Seems insane you’d role dice that you can sustain the form and not risk injury if you were to sign 2 years.

He’s 20 with barely a dozen games to his name. He has incredible pass, agility, leap and football skills, yet apprently he’s worth nothing whilst still being under contract.

Yet the 24 year old Aleer with 20 odd games to his name great athleticism but zero football skills is worth a big contract and an early second round pick.

Truly st Kilda buy high sell low, they don’t see us coming they phone and invite us.
