Nowhere in the article though does it state he wants that type of money. All it says is that the offer so far doesn't show him or his management that he is valued.

Whilst I thought that the rumour of Nas being shown a 'future list' of the club and it didnt have Windy was bullshit.
Maybe there was a hint of reality in it? But shit I'd hope not. I see Windy being an important cog.
I didn’t mean Windy was after the same type of money. Obviously not.
But while he is having a very good year - it’s one year. Still probably a C+ type of player. And that’s not a knock on him. He has the potential to become a very good player, but he’s not that yet.

I like him. I really hope he stays.

I think that is harsh on Windy. We think he is our best run with option. We place him on the likes of Daicos and Pickett. Wouldn't have thought we place such important match ups on a C+ player. Imo of course

In all honesty, what would the club do if Marshall has major injury problems in the next couple of years? He’s been hindered by a foot problem for most of the year, and it’s extremely doubtful he’ll be around when we start playing finals.

Dodson’s a babe and the jury appears to be out whether Heath even makes it. Been in the system for 4 years already.

TDK is the perfect demographic for us and probably still has improvement in him. Gawn has been very complimentary of him. Yes, it’s a lot of $$$, but we don’t have to give up a pick by trading.

I can see the sense behind this decision.

Like SOS or not, this whole thing about getting back at Carlton is ridiculous. he’s a professional, his reputation is riding on this, and he’s probably not making these decisions in isolation.
I just can’t make sense of the money reportedly being offered to him. I agree that he will be a good pickup and an important piece of the puzzle, but if we lose Nas and Windy in the process, it’ll be very bittersweet. Poor TDK would be resented before he even plays a game for us 😂

Re Windhangers contract ,I see a lot of Luke Ball in Marcus. The way he moves and hard at it style. He hasn’t had a year as good as Hall but there had been some inroads.I will say, in a few games his ability to win contested footy was team lifting to other players. We all know what Ross thought of Luke.Seems Marcus going the same way.

Whenever I look at our list, I always think of NWM Windy Owens as the 'the originals' of the new generation

Their draft was the first draft we had nailed in years

Heart and soul type players all in different ways - NWM the superstar, Windy the A+ role player, Owens the fierce competitor

To lose even one of them - let alone 2 - in the same off-season before even making finals with this list would be heartbreaking

He’s done very good jobs on them, no doubt.
But he gets/got the tagging to help him find the ball himself.
It’s exactly the player you would use. You’re not going to use your really good ball-getting players to do it. Just liked we used Steele early on in his career.

Nothing to say he’s not going to improve big time. And I really hope he does, but he’s not there yet. And that’s fine. Hopefully he’ll keep growing.

For sure it’s major $$$.
It’s what you pay, if you’re a small unsuccessful club, to attract FAs.
And hopefully with improvement over the next couple of years we won’t have to dole out quite so much to attract them.

I really don’t believe that this would be the reason (if) we lose NAS. It seems like he is being offered plenty.

Except that Ross mentioned him plenty in his pressers early on when he was tagging. Guess we’ll see.

SOS needs to go but he’s one of Ross’ boys and never will while he’s here

Why undercut Windy when we’re throwing too much at Aleer ffs
We are gonna spend more on aleer if not the same than we did battle. Let that one sink in!!!

We are gonna spend around the same on a VFL player than a guy who was top 10 in our B&F who never wanted to leave.

Almost as if the salary cap has increased which is causing a league wide rise in salaries

Afternoon. Back again after mainstream confirmed my Leek Aleer news.
Windhager still unsigned as we approach round 22... In career best form.
Windhager camp has been infuriated by the clubs treatment of one of their own NGA boys. From the lowballing offers to the botched NAS presentation. Marcus is a loyal young man who may still stay, but it is fair to say the List and Recruitment team at the club have operated appalling in their treatment of him.

On Nasiah: Intel suggests he is leaning towards leaving, and Nas' teammates are of the belief it will be the crows he elects to nominate, not the power.
Club clearly, still has a few weeks to change his mind.
For what its worth, i am really pleased this has finally hit mainstream media tonight.
It has been an absolute disgrace how the club has treated one of our own NGA graduates.
I hope with some mainstream coverage now, the heat will finally be put on the List and Recruiting team.
Hopefully they can turn it around with the short space of time left to do so.

Well said.

Seeing that 21’ draft trio split up would honestly just kill any optimism I have in us building towards a flag.

Even thinking about watching a pre season training next year without these 2 players running around just feels not right and if it comes out we have f*cked it up due to lowballing the 2 players we have named in the Under22 squad after flexing this wArCheSt we have, my membership is going bongos

Ive said in this in private to a few but the only way this mess makes any sense is that the list management does not rate the players we have like we do.

This includes NAS. I think coming into this year he was seen as a handy attacking HBF but someone you can easily replace. I don't think they saw the upside in him that we do.

I think the same was said for windy. I think they've seen him as a serviceable tagger and a work horse mid but probably not one with a lot of scope.

Battle was seen as replaceable but the draft currency they could get was more sought after than keeping him. I don't think they saw the draft or ladder or turning out the way it did.

Now here we are.

Nas is suddenly a must keep but like battle theyre trying to get the work done to retain him far too late. Windy is gonna affect nas and it looks like he might be gone too.

Its an utter shambles. We are far too conservative on what we have when we are throwing crazy money at tdk and aleer.

Its all over the shop. Any contract above x amount has to be run by the President. Its a bit sad no intervention has come in before this.

Sadly its a bit like the assement on the football club over a number of years before he decided to get more hands on. Too little too late.

Offering TDK 1.7 mil sounds like it’s upset a few current players. Maybe we should just not worry about him…. But SOS loves trying to screw over his previous club
If they’re upset when we’re sitting in the bottom five they can **** off.

Id suggest Windy, Hall and Nas have been our barometer this year. They all seem to lift naturally when something special is needed.

I've we've botched this, it will be devastating. Windy, Nas, Owens from the 2021 draft. It is meant to be our 2001 draft reincarnate... I guess if one of them walks it probably just is when we look at Ball
