Just watching the expansion cup and jeez leek aleer gets outmarked way too easily

He’s actually playing well for him today, took 2 marks in 2 minutes in the first quarter.

One was a contested one on one, maybe that’s his go. Gets lost in traffic, arm tackles etc, just tangled legs in a marking contest and fell over. Got caught out under the ball but tracked back and managed to spoil without giving away a free kick.

It’s a mystery but we must think we can use him and he is very athletic. If we can teach the Irish why not him a guess, crazy deal for a project player Imo.

Unfortunately Nas looks gone. Not a lot more we could do, but it just seems unlikely a gun player signs after the season.

Never been a huge fan of SOS and I'm not over keen on what is being reported.

Windhager is one of our best young players. I'm sure he will end up staying but a two year deal seems odd. Not sure why we wouldn't be offering a long term deal.

Leek Aleer is an average footballer. If we can get him cheap than great. Offering big money is just crazy though.

TDK I have always said is one of the most over hyped footballers we have seen and spending that money on a ruck is just ridiculous. I'm also pretty impressed with Dodson and wouldn't be the least surprised if he ends up having a better career than TDK.

I get the argument that we have to spend the money one way or another but there must be better ways. I'd love to be a bit more positive going into the trade period but I'm struggling to see a lot I like about the reports we are seeing.

I'm going to be somewhat positive here.

I'm wondering if he really doesn't know because his final decision isn't really clear cut in his own mind.

Is it actually his burning desire for himself or is it a desire to do what his family would like to go back to Adelaide? He's now a leader of this team by anyone measure. That will make it even harder for him. Everyone is presuming that he wants to go home. The decision for a 22 year old to face his Mum and say look I'm staying in Melbourne because I love this club may be burning him up inside. I'd have put that off to the last minute too if it was me at 22. Disappointing family and friends wouldn't be easy.

If he decides to leave my only concern is fair trade value which is 3 first rounds with top 10 guaranteed on 2 of them or including a player like Butters, future picks are too risky imo. Knowing our luck, the AFL will amend the system after we get dudded.

Judd left Eagles, Ablett left Geelong, Franklin left Hawks, Neale left dockers. The world spins on. It’s only hard as it is due waiting through the 2010’s era of absolute bog average players year after year, that in hindsight were never going anywhere.

In all other aspects of my life I'm actually a very upbeat positive person. Footy crushes my spirit and forces me accept that there are things that I can have no control over and just have to ride it like a roller coaster. Perhaps it's a psychological disorder, I feel too fortunate so some kind of universal force won't take it all away from me if I have one source of torment in my life.
