Good players can be found but champions are rare.

NAS is looking like being a champion.

If we don't get Butters + Georgiades in return we've come out losers.

And there is no way we are getting those 2.
A champion team always beats a team of champions

I find it interesting that this answer is an indication that he's leaving

But a few moments earlier, he was asked about Windy moving out and said with a smile 'yeah, he's dogged me and chito moving out' which would be a strange thing to say if he was also moving out in a few days.

Or his comment to Mooney about wanting to build a winning culture and smile when Moons responded with 'You got to be here next year to do that'

Now, I don't think either answer is indicative of anything but they are just examples of how you can read whatever you want - positive or negative - into an interview.

“I love playing at the footy club, I love being a leader of this club and being a vice-captain and just want this club to get better,” he told The Herald Sun.

“I think I am like every other Saints person who’s connected to this footy club who is a fan, member, employee, who just wants the signature of the No.7 (Wanganeen-Milera).
“If there is anything I can do to get that then that is what I’ll do and a few other key players. We are on this journey together and I want to drive it and anything I can do to make this club better I will.”
Very interesting comments. Don't think he'd make them if Nas had told everyone he's leaving.

I'm just happy I'm not on the rollercoaster you are on.

Demanding things from posters left, right and centre.

Being a body language expert.

Stating Nas is definitely going to leave.

It's going to be okay, brother.
Exactly it’s the football, I hope Nas stays because he helps us win and he’s good to watch.

I’m not loosing any sleep over sport of any kind, it’s meant to be fun. If it stops being fun I’ll find something else to do or watch.

I think it's impossible to read too much into these comments. They can mean different things depending how you look at it. All will be revealed in time, jeez it's stressful though because he's just that good and watching him get better and better while worrying if he'll leave is fairly agonising. Not gonna lie it was keeping me up last night worrying about him leaving. Would be a heartbreaker.

And if he said “St. Kilda” or “The Saints” the commentary would be “he’s using the name of he club in the third person, he’s gone!”.
"We"

- He doesn't specify who "we" is. He's gone

"The boys"

- He's excluding himself by saying "the boys". He's gone.

"The club"

- He didn't specify which club. He's gone.

"I, along with everyone else at St Kilda Football Club, are committed to go several years into the future to bring the ultimate success to the club. I will be a player for the St Kilda Football Club in this endeavour"

- He sounds like he's over compensating. He's gone.

In all other aspects of my life I'm actually a very upbeat positive person. Footy crushes my spirit and forces me accept that there are things that I can have no control over and just have to ride it like a roller coaster. Perhaps it's a psychological disorder, I feel too fortunate so some kind of universal force won't take it all away from me if I have one source of torment in my life.
Seriously, find other sports in addition to AFL.

I watch basketball which I absolutely love. But many people just don't like it. Fair enough.

For something closer to footy, Melbourne Storm is a great option.

I'm a bandwagon NRL fan for one month every year. That month is starting and it's moderately exciting.

Storm have this amazing capacity to lose players but keep developing others. They've been contenders for 20+ years. More impressive than even Geelong in the AFL.

Premiership favourites this year. Jump on board!

Wtf is Bassat doing? Surely he can slip him a milly in crypto.

Send it off exchange, out of sight from Coinspot. Nobody would know.

Would not be shocked in there was some crypto "sponsoships" being done off the books with some clubs already.

I am not against cheating at this point🤣
St Kilda should have it's own "Sandpaper-gate"

NAS is the first player in decades that the Saints have had that has the X factor (not Clarke I am referring to), makes us better in so many ways and I want him to stay.

My gut feel is that he would have announced it by now and he is out the door.

Do not want this to be the case.
Whilst I agree with this...

I also think there is a real possibility he is genuinely undecided and just wants clear air to make up his mind

The AFL season is all encompassing and taxing. Every day is recovery, or training, facing the media, meal monitoring... and the weekly pressure of performing in front of 20, 30, 50k people while trying to maximise your value for your next contract (whatever that is).

Maybe he genuinely doesn't want to devote valuable headspace to it and just wants to focus on performing on the field. Then get away and shift focus to deciding on next year.

I could imagine myself having this kind of mindset and approach if I was playing.

Personally, if NAS leaves it will be up to the SA clubs to fight it out for his services.
I wouldn't be ruling out Adelaide.
If, NAS nominates port and they don't satisfy us with a suitable trade then Adelaide would come in with a suitable offer for his services.
It's a two horse race if nas leaves and both Adelaide clubs would know it.

I agree, but either way, I still can't see us getting good enough compensation.

Even if this weren’t a compromised draft and Port and Adelaide had a stack of first-round picks, the talent just isn’t there this year based on most expert opinion.

It would suck and the club will need to get creative to cover his loss. I still dont see how either SA club could get a deal done so if he does leave, it's going to be the most toxic trade negation we've ever seen.

Don't stress too much. There is nothing we can do to control or impact the situation. It's just football at the end of the day.

No doubt, definitely need to stop stressing about it. So dumb to stress about something completely out of our control. I just really love watching him play.

The trade aspect is massive. If he nominates he is taking a huge risk because neither SA team has anything close to his worth in draft picks.

Players come and go. They always have. The vast majority will never have the same passion for the club most of us have. It's their job.

Nas will make his decision one way or the other then move on quickly. He'll do what's best for him and won't have a single thought about how it will affect the fan base. It is what it is. Sad as that may sound.

Yep. The best outcome for us would be a bidding war.
