Come on mate, just because I doxxed your mum, no need to get huffy, and I only ran to Chief to get you banned twice, jeez you hold a grudge 🤣🤣
No need for me to have a grudge, when all you do is bring out the sludge/sledge.
I just ignore that crap without the thumb
And you seem like you're the Chief's lap dog wtf

some notes from training reports from preseason on Dodson. I am sure TheJackal and other track watchers would have similiar.
his talent wasn't hard to spot.

From training report Monday 2nd December 2024
Travaglia 5, Dodson 38, Boyd 50, Barrat 28. Elwood wearing 39. Boxshall has 37 and 33 looks like Said. 39 is Elwood, Tauru isn't out there.
Dodson already a good ruck body, broad shoulders, will fill out nicely.

From training report Friday 13th December 2024

Interchanging every 5 minutes. In sim Arie running hard. Dodson and Pou look good. Dodson looks like a footballer

From training report Wednesday 15th January 2025
Dodson is a big unit, must have hit the weights over Xmas, going to be massive when filled out. Wearing the fluro in match sim.

From training report Friday 7th February 2025, match sim

Dodson already showing more than Heath.

From training report Friday 18th April 2025, match sim

Dodson has footy nous, long ball down the wing to a contest, he is out of position, so instead of trying to mark. He keeps and taps it to an unmarked Hill who hits up Keeler on the lead. Long term prospect and can football.
He has surprised me at every turn this year, can only be a good thing.

Happily suprised in preseason myself, but his improvement since focussing on footy full time in a professional environment has been huge. Hopefully he can continue that rapid rise.

More surprising though is that I am having to argue the point that a kid doesn't have to wait until he is 23 to play if he is good enough.

Would like him to fill out a bit, but his football nous is exceptional and his skills are above standard. Won't need to wait until he is 23, but he is still only 19, his development is pretty rapid and will be decided next season. Pretty important to extend him sooner rather than later.

And vice versa , wow that's cut me deep , off you go now
I’d already gone, watched some local footy (Bears won), got some sun, had a few beers & back to pop the roast on & crack open a Wild Duck Creek…. and you’re still here trying to win emoji points with Captain Analogy?

Clearly you take the points today Risky. Well played.

Any contrary opinion is apparently bed wetting, grumpy or some other rubbish.
No.....the permanent sackcloth and ashes routine, espousing that everything our club ever does is the worst, and not missing a beat in the routine for the days after we just closed the most important contract we've signed in 20 years...that's what gets labelled as bed-wetting nancy boys.

We've had a great week as a club, and yet the same suspects barely skipped a beat in their morose never-ending tale of how shit we are and how everyone should be sacked........it gets ****ing boring eventually.......

If you could translate that to English, it would be great.

People have just said 11.9/7 is 1.7 per year.
This conveniently overlooks the banked cap space, meaning we could pay him up to 3 mill in his first year,
Saints only have $2.3mil extra in 2026 compared to 2025 (assuming 95% 2025)

Cap spend is max 105% regardless how much carry forward you have.

Nas' salary goes up $1.3mil? From 700 to 2mil?

TDK say $1.8m

That's $3.1m.

We need to save 800k elsewhere.

and the mentions of marketing, which could be as much as $300k (outside the cap),
This is the big question.

My assumption is the reported figures don't include this. But I could be wrong. Has Bassat addressed this directly? Any reason for believing either way?

plus the natural increase in the salary cap, which would mean we could pay up to $1.5m in the last couple of years if we needed to.
and nobody knows what that increase will be.

But given no new TV rights deal till 2032, there is no reason to think there will be big cap increases from 2028

Edit: but more importantly, if you're paying a 32, 33 year old ruck that much, and relying on cap increases to squeeze it in, your cap is stuffed. Exactly the situation I'm warning against!

Signing and managing Dodson with two rucks will be challenging
Ruck isn't our weakness on the ground.

It's crazy money for TDK and an area of the ground we already have a consistent ruck and a young promising potential A grade ruck.
Add in kings contract 1 mill and we are at 4.7 mill
We are all in for NAS and Lyon next/last 2 years.
If we don't sign Windy, Wilson and Dodson we drop back again

Yeah maybe
But Marshall's got what? 4 years at best
And Dodson would be the main replacement for him or DeKoning if they get injured?
Dont think his development will be stunted by them, get to learn from them too.

I'd have said this 2 years ago, so maybe I'll always be wrong, but I'm so surprised that Marshall hasn't spent significant time on the sidelines with injury. It seems every year he's carrying something, yet continues to play.

I'd hate if he doesn't finish as a one club player.

I have no issue with you disagreeing with anything I say, in fact, I welcome it. The whole point of this place is to allow a forum for debate and opinion. The issue I have with your posts is the tone, manner and style of them (in particular when they veer into personal attack territory for no reason). You should reflect on it, especially considering I'm not the only one who is saying (or has said) this.
Ok thanks, I will give what you said some thought

Jeepers, everyone going the man in the list management thread and there's still a game to go.

She gonna be a long off season 'round these parts 😵‍💫
Certainly has turned into the wild west in here the last couple of days.

We've all woken up from our hangovers celebrating Nas, only to realise we all got so wasted we shagged each other's missus

Lol, its all fun, nobody takes offence, except gringo of course, he is a triggered snowflake 😉
I want to go into bat for Gringo. He's one of only a couple of people I never skip when trawling the forum.

His opinion resonates with me, much like other AFL industry figures I admire, such as Kelli Underwood, Matthew Richardson and Jordan Lewis.

Edit: To be clear, the first paragraph is actually true, the second paragraph was just some champagne comedy for you all.

105% spend every year to match the underspend?

4 years at 95% allows 4 years at 105%?

Gringo is a pretty astute judge of footballers, it was just a friendly dig at him.
He jumps to conclusions but we all do on occasion.

He’s a good poster, the fact that you disagree with him is neither nor there.

I’m not sure how putting the boot in and encouraging others to do so is improving the place.
Let's get this straight instead of Joffa going off half cooked as always, I don't normally read his garbage but on this occasion I had too since it was clear he was banging on about me.
First of all I tried to message him directly to ask what his problem was with giving me the disagree thumbs down every post I put up, even when I wrote something not even the pope would be offended by out comes the disagree again, it was boarding on harassment and since I couldn't message him due to his profile settings I asked a Mod , no i didn't run to the chief as he said to ask him to stop the thumbs down every post.
I couldn't care if he or anyone gives me a thumbs down but each post should be judged on its merit, not being a vindictive clown like King Joffa ,
