2025 List Management Discussion - Part 3

Now that our season is over, and news is starting to break - it's time for a fresh thread.

This thread is to discuss all things list management - trades, draft, free agency, delistings and more.
As we are now officially in our off-season, we'll be wanting to keep this thread more strictly on-topic than the previous iterations.
Be respectful. You are allowed to disagree with someone - but play the ball, not the man. Repeat offenders will have their posting rights revoked.

Thanks to Lore once again for this incredibly useful spreadsheet.

2025 KEY DATES
Free Agency Period:
Friday, October 3rd - Friday, October 10th
Trade Period: Monday, October 6th - Wednesday, October 15th

I would nearly do Pick 10 for Wilkie and Pick 17 for Marshall (I know they would get pushed back)

If we could turn Wilkie into Flanders and keep our pick 7 and Geelongs first rounder it’s good for our list profile.

Both are contracted so if they weren’t offering their first picks no deal.
No way, Wilkie should be a 2 first round picks. or 1 first round + good young player. he is a gun full back, top 3-4 in the league for me.

I suspect that Wilkie thinks he is being underpaid, knows his earning potential is at its highest right now, and wants to cash in. Clubs don't make these offers in a vacuum.
He is also contracted for 2 years - so even if we believe he has an interest.

How does a deal get done for arguably a top 5 defender in the entire league?

Wilkie probably is being underpaid, if the events of the last two weeks are anything to go by.

Bump his salary up + give him captaincy, ezpz

I'm not saying a deal will get done. Wilkie clearly wants to stay, but he wants to stay on more money. Will be interesting to see how the club handles this.
Cal - "Ross, I'm not interested in leaving"

Ross - "I know Cal. Here is the Captaincy and a new 2 year extension. Now, please enjoy having backline help instead of having to babysit the other key backs"

Do these idiots even listen to what they are saying?
First they say with no knowledge that SC is tight and someone has to go.
Then they say Marshall but in the same breath say most of his contract has been paid.
What is the point of trading him for SC relief then? FMD these idiots.

If the Bulldogs can afford to pony up $4.5 for Cal over 4 years, seems obvious they could have upped their offer for Silvagni. They either didn't (negligent by them if so) or Silvagni's management didn't even bother asking.

If I were Silvagni looking at the player lists I would be thinking Bulldogs >> Saints... so what is it that persuaded him to come to us? Obv. it could simply be $$... but my guess is that it is a question of RTB >>> Bevo.

It is flabbergasting to me how bad a coach Beveridge must be that with the list at his disposal the Bulldogs have not made the finals 2 out of the last 3 years. And they have never finished top 4 under him.
