Now that our season is over, and news is starting to break - it's time for a fresh thread.

This thread is to discuss all things list management - trades, draft, free agency, delistings and more.
As we are now officially in our off-season, we'll be wanting to keep this thread more strictly on-topic than the previous iterations.

Free Agency Period: Friday, October 3rd - Friday, October 10th
Trade Period: Monday, October 6th - Wednesday, October 15th
AFL Draft: Wednesday, November 19th - Thursday, November 20th

I am glad the Wilkie situation has finally been put to bed, but I’m sure we have had to pay every penny to stop him from cracking the sads. He was obviously underpaid on his current contract but that isn’t the club’s fault.

We will no doubt lose a few over the journey if we have players with similar mindsets. Can’t keep them all and I’m sure they all feel entitled to more than they are actually worth. Let’s hope the kids are switched on.

They like to think they are some up and coming big club.

Reality is that in the middle of a rebuild we have 80 less members, with far less star power to bank on.

They are and always will be a nothing club out west.

Their bottom six are garbage but they have some high end elite talent and pump the strugglers.

Guys like Poulter, Baker, Garcia, Vandermeer, Harmes’ etc are not afl standard. They’re a classic example of why stacking your two’s with mostly good ordinary players and veterans doesn’t necessarily help at afl level.

I kinda agree. Would be a different story if he was uncontracted. No issues if he was uncontracted and seeing what was out there, but given he had 2 years left on his current deal, this has left a pretty bad taste in my mouth.

Most overrated list in football. They got gifted that 2016 flag, there's a reason they're the only club to have done it from 7th position.

If winning one flag in 60 years makes someone this delusional about how successful their club is maybe we're better off continuing the drought...

Yeah, I just wanted to see how these things permeate.

I won't name names, but I was hit up by various ITKs from multiple clubs and fed them little pieces of bullshit and it all then got repackaged as "info from sources" or as "a bit of smoke".

Some of the details got repeated on radio and fed into tweets from journos etc.

Disappointingly, I left some really nice breadcrumbs that should have made the story slightly more believable that nobody picked up on.

The weirdest part was when a group of people on here started banding together and claimed I'd deleted posts from earlier in the year about Nas. Not sure if that was somebody with alts, or a shared false memory, but it was interesting none the less.

Overall I think the board did pretty well. I don't think anyone bought my little yarn hook, line and sinker. But it clearly did influence the commentary.
