he is not the type of key defender that we need - payne is just a better version of him.

He would be, but there'd be plenty of teams who would bring him on board as a best 22 player. He's not going to be that here, so I don't think we'd be of interest to him.

Isn’t the reporting that those two and a few others haven’t been offered contracts yet? So Collingwood are looking at regenerating their list, and probably aren’t concerned about losing certain players.

Worth remembering they have been on the hook for both Grundy and Treloars contract. I think this year or next is the last one they are paying those two. Means they will have some extra cap relief soon

Pretty stock standard answer from Zac there, if the reported offers of circa 1.2 Million per season are correct you can not blame him for considering it.

No way we would entertain offering that sort of money when McCluggage's latest contract was said to be around 950K, Hugh and Harris should be our highest paid players currently IMO.

The club also has to weigh in Will Ashcroft, who will definitely command a lot himself. I like Zac and i hope he stays, but if the club has to weigh up giving him that money or Will, I would prefer Will.

Over the last few days I have heard the names James Worpel, Rowan Marshall and Charlie Curnow as possible Cats recruits.... we could be getting 3 injury prone players in Oscar Allen, Sam Draper and maybe Jordan Ridley, according to the AFL media great management by the Cats, however the sky is falling in when the Lions do similar.
