Murray would be the only one I'd consider.Would you be prepared to part with any of these young Vics as part of a trade for NWM?
Jake Soligo
Josh Rachele
Josh Worrell
Nick Murray
Maybe. But we have a window now opening up whilst Dawson still in his late 20s.That wouldn't get it done...end of story.
And personally I wouldn't be comfortable with the long term $1.5m annual hit to our overall salary cap it will quite possibly take. That's a lot of eggs to have in the one basket with Curtin and other younger players likely wanting more $$$$'s to retain in the future.

I agree it wouldn’t get it done. That wouldn't get it done...end of story.

Who actually would be our highest contracts?I agree it wouldn’t get it done.
Contracts and the cap is growing, other clubs manage to pay players big $$ and NWM is a gun.
Well to now his durability has been top shelf, Marshall is already having back issues which isn't great considering the crash and bash hammering ruckman take.... there's no evidence Marshall would be any different is there?Farrk imagine Rob in 3 years
I wasn’t talking about Marshall.Well to now his durability has been top shelf, Marshall is already having back issues which isn't great considering the crash and bash hammering ruckman take.... there's no evidence Marshall would be any different is there?
How is Marshall any different in regards to McAndrew, only more likely we'd find out and at that point we may not like what we see.I wasn’t talking about Marshall.
But rob moves like he’s 65 now, no way he should be getting anymore than a year by year deal.
Robs durability also comes at a cost, we don’t get to see what McAndrew would be like.
Marshall is vastly better around the ground.Hasn’t Marshall been nursing a back injury and still got another 2 years on fairly decent contract to run?
Personally I’m struggling to see the benefit of using him to replace ROB makes much sense
Nick Murray, absolutely.Would you be prepared to part with any of these young Vics as part of a trade for NWM?

There's certainly value in them however if you're losing someone of NWM I think you'd be hoping for more than a lock down defender to go with a pick in the teens.I would have thought shutdown full backs are still a pretty valuable acquisition especially if surrounded by good tall rebounding defenders like Worrell and Keane.

I don’t understand what you’re getting at there. How is Marshall any different in regards to McAndrew, only more likely we'd find out and at that point we may not like what we see.
I wouldn't offer that, no. I don't want to get rid of Butts yet. I wouldn't be offering any player we need to keep, certainly none in the present 23, excepting Murphy. I'd be happy for Sholl to be included, for example.
That's mutual.I don’t understand what you’re getting at there.
You keep bringing Marshall into it when I never mentioned him????That's mutual.
The talk was Marshall in ROB out see Crow till I die post a few posts earlier. You keep bringing Marshall into it when I never mentioned him????
Yeah that’s fine but my post was purely about robs lack of athleticism in 3 years time and hence we should not be giving a 3 year deal to him.The talk was Marshall in ROB out see Crow till I die post a few posts earlier.
What if you had to give up Butts to get NWM?I wouldn't offer that, no. I don't want to get rid of Butts yet. I wouldn't be offering any player we need to keep, certainly none in the present 23, excepting Murphy. I'd be happy for Sholl to be included, for example.
So, I would only entertain draft picks and steak-knives players.
And my point is Marshall already having back issues so there is no guarantee he'll maintain his previous form for 3 years either....more likely than not that would be the case.. Plenty of good rucks don't score highly on the athleticism scale either.Yeah that’s fine but my post was purely about robs lack of athleticism in 3 years time and hence we should not be giving a 3 year deal to him.
That’s a good way to look at it. The truth is that NWM is currently a better player than all 4 of them, with Worrell probably closest and then Rachele. We would be a better team if we swapped one of them, plus a first, for NWM. BUT, this is not what good teams do. They keep their required players. For me, Worrell and Rachele are required players, Soligo very close, and Murray in the very much prefer to keep category.Would you be prepared to part with any of these young Vics as part of a trade for NWM?

Well, that's never going to be demanded! In fact, we only have to beat what Port offer, if we are the preferred option. What if you had to give up Butts to get NWM?
