We need to as we still got Ah Chee that we need to add. So we need to drop a player to the Rookie List giving us 4 spots. Then Pick up 3 players leaving one for Ah Chee in the pre Season.Does that mean we don't have to cut a player to have the 3 national draft picks?
So 16 out of contract on the main list next year? Big year for a lot of them to show they deserve another contract.

My mate is painting Bond's place next week, I'll get him to suggest he brings that up to Nicks ala Dawson to the midfieldGiven we've failed to to entice a best 22 midfielder this trade period and instead of reverting to the same old, same old like Laird and Keays why not give Hugh Bond a game or three in Berry's place in the midfield even if it's only as the defensive mid, no way Newcombe etc get too much easy pill on him.
Tell him to just walk in - thats Nicks mantra - my door is always openMy mate is painting Bond's place next week, I'll get him to suggest he brings that up to Nicks ala Dawson to the midfield
Next year’s delisting/retirements seem pretty obvious unless some of these players improve dramatically.
Tex - retire
Sholl - delist
Cook - Delist
Borlase - Delist
Jones - Delist
Welsh - Delist
Amongst our older players, I expect Hinge and Laird to get another contract.
Some of our younger players may be seeking opportunities elsewhere; Dowling, Berry, Pedlar, Edwards, Ryan, Taylor and Butts. I am however hopeful that a couple of these cement a spot in our best 23 next year.
I honestly doubt either is, at this point. Cook’s 24 next season, probably doesn’t have much growth left in him
While he's there get him to ask his housemate Dan Curtin 2 questions 1. Does he know if Hamish and his crew have shown any interest in brother Cody 2. Has he been told he'll be training with the mids this preseason? My mate is painting Bond's place next week, I'll get him to suggest he brings that up to Nicks ala Dawson to the midfield
Borlase is 192cm that's hardly even tall for a midfielder these days.Borlase won't get delisted, being tall buys you a lot of extra time on a list.
Might lose Butts soon as well.

Agree. but id retire him before 2027 season. Hes about to turn 32. I think it will be time.Laird's not retiring, he'll get a 2 year extension because he's Nick' special little guy
If they didn't retire Sloane after 2023, Tex after this year, I cannot see them doing it with Laird.Agree. but id retire him before 2027 season. Hes about to turn 32. I think it will be time.
Tex kicked 40 goals this yearIf they didn't retire Sloane after 2023, Tex after this year, I cannot see them doing it with Laird.
I love him, but he couldn't bend down after Round 22.Tex kicked 40 goals this year
100%I love him, but he couldn't bend down after Round 22.
Now that he has 300 games and only 20 Goals to get to 700, I honestly hope that they utilize him a bit better this year
DoedeeDoes anyone ever improve in our SANFL side?
It seems more like a dumping ground for guys not in the 23 than a place to develop players.
Worrell is about the only good player to have developed there in 12 seasons.
You would hope this was the main topic of his exit interview. A late pick on Cody would be one well spent, Dan is a special one. While he's there get him to ask his housemate Dan Curtin 2 questions 1. 1-A little bit of sugar for him to have his brother here.

His first year had a lot of limits around the amount of time he was allowed to spend at the club and what he could do. This year, injuries were an issue.2 yearsin effect, because he spent the bulk of his draft year training and playing with us.
I think how he turns up for pre-season training and his early SANFL form will be the big decider.
His 1st season was actually better than this season which is a bit of a worry.

he wont play every week like this year.100%
Id rather he wasnt playing at all, but now that he is, we have to use him like most clubs use their 35yo's
Will take a little while for any player we draft to be ready, hell our pick 21 from two years ago hasn’t even played a game yet
