not how it works. So you're saying if Lando is stalled in the pits for 15 secs, Oscar still has to slow down and let him by?
This is the point. Where is the threshold, and if there is one at all, then why?

Wouldn’t the fair thing be to say to Oscar “you gained 0.3 sec on that lap in the undercut before Lando pitted, so give up 0.3 seconds thanks”

On a positive note, I'm pretty sure McLaren can cement the constructors' title in Baku. That means they should be free to race their own races after that.

Correct.

Genuine question for your viewpoint then, what then should have they done if it was a 10 second stop?
They wouldn't have swapped because Leclerc would have been ahead.

McLaren were able to do the fair thing today because they had clean track to do so. If the shoe were on the other foot, I doubt many would be taking the stance they are taking right now.

That's because Schumi and Max were the clear number 1 in their teams.

Not the case at McLaren.

34 points clear on top of the WDC, 104 points clear of the four time defending champ.
Is that not a clear #1? If not, why?

Serious? 1 DNF from Oscar just like Lando last week, and they're almost level.

McL have said all along, they have no number 1 driver

Great drive max and fantastic pole lap yesterday which we didn't see or celebrate because sky were celebrating Lando's pole. At least today they get to celebrate Lando's heroic performance to outfox his #2 driver

Anyone have the ability to see the deltas between Oscar and Charles for those 3 or so laps prior to the pitstop?

Was Leclerc even closing? I don’t remember that occurring
Maybe a tenth or 2 but no nothing close to screaming out box or you will be undercut, he came out 3.5 ahead Oscar could have pitted on the final lap at the rate he was gaining.
