Never said that, you're again trying to fight a point you want people to make rather than the one being madeYou don’t think offensive flexibility is more valuable than defensive?
Not sure many would agree.

I know whose side I'm on but I'm not saying because I don't want to bring the Middle East hereSounds like a married couple.
The position is clear that Rowell is more valuable than De Goey, by a fair margin. In a vacuum attack is more valued than defence, but you have insisted that these players have multiple strings to their bow where Rowell does not.I asked a question- so you could clarify your position.
I then suggested that one side of the argument ie. offensive flexibility would be more valued by most.
Not sure why that’s contentious.

That would be quite nice. Rowell feeding it to Nick who laces out a leading De Goey in the 2026 granny would be perfectly fine by me
Yes but if you read my earlier post you would understand that that is a position which I have previously explained to you so I don't know why I'm posting hereThat would be quite nice. Rowell feeding it to Nick who laces out a leading De Goey in the 2026 granny would be perfectly fine by me
Questioning a premise presented to you does not = accepting the logic. It’s insane that you don’t understand that. You actually accepted the logic - that having more flexibility would come at a premium for players like Heeney over Rowell.
It’s an inescapable conclusion- otherwise you would have dismissed flexibility of Heeney etc over Rowell as irrelevant - and not infer such players would come at premium.
Hence your statement.
“What makes you think that these players who you claim are so much more valuable than Rowell, would be the same price as Rowell? That makes no sense”
All good let’s move on.
What does this even mean? Any extra cost associated with a trade is essentially a lottery ticket. This is why I’ve been talking about list management being about playing the odds/percentages.The whole point though is that it wouldn’t be a straight swap. So the comparison is not really fair.
Except every expert in history who’s declared that defenses win flags. You don’t think offensive flexibility is more valuable than defensive?
Not sure many would agree.
That’s the scenario in an ideal world.
System is different to individuals.Except every expert in history who’s declared that defenses win flags.
Because we already have some of the best defenders in the league and a rock solid defensive unit, while we haven’t had a 50 goal key forward for over a decade.System is different to individuals.
Aren’t the most sought after players (and often highest paid) Goal kickers not defenders.
Constant talk here about, King, JUH - not much talk about paying huge money for a defender.
Yes, they have, but Goal kickers are still preferred.Because we already have some of the best defenders in the league and a rock solid defensive unit, while we haven’t had a 50 goal key forward for over a decade.
If we didn’t have Moore and Howe you could bet your bottom dollar that the discussion would be revolving around spending big money on bringing in a premier defender and not a premier forward.
Good key defenders have become a lot more desirable and a lot more expensive in recent years.

You got itIs our old friend J Ralph in on that?
the article says he will be offered a new contract - hopefully for 2 yearsNow flognuts at the Hun is speculating Checkers is on the move
I dont want to ever see him in another jumper.Collingwood premiership star Brody Mihocek has been told he will be offered a new Pies deal but is likely to park negotiations amid interest in experienced key position forwards from rival AFL clubs.
Mihocek will take on St Kilda this weekend having enjoyed another strong season with 23 goals in 11 games despite missing contests with a minor abdominal sprain earlier this season.
The VFL success story turned 32 in February and is one of the many plus-30 Pies who are now being told they will be offered extensions by Collingwood by around rounds 18-21.
Collingwood is keen for the likes of Scott Pendlebury, Steele Sidebottom, Jeremy Howe and Jamie Elliott to play on and has started the process of contract talks.

Brody Mihocek is likely to put contract talks with Collingwood on hold.
But Mihocek is likely to park those discussions until the end of the home-and-away season.
There are clubs in the market keen for unrestricted free agents like key forward Mihocek who would be happy to offer multi-year deals.
He wont leave but old dickhead just keeps dropping little barbs at us one after the other. Do any of the older players at other clubs get this much traction in the potential trade headlinesI dont want to ever see him in another jumper.
