Couldn’t have happened to a nicer bloke.
The grass being greener on the other side….life comes at you fast it seems
How funny if it’s a Pies/Cats GF and Ollie has to watch from home on TV when he had an opportunity to play in flags for both teams. Suck shit

Elliott will stay for mine.
Legacy as a one club player and he will be paid accordingly on 2yr deal.

Mihocek …I can see him departing to take a more lucrative offer.
Would be great if he chose to stay but I think he may be one that is going.
His body looks really sore at moment and it may be catching up with him

The one consolation if Geelong wins a flag is that he won’t be part of it.
Imagine thst

2022 omitted from finals series ( arguably could have got a game but was on the outer with Fly) ,gets traded to Geelong the premier.
2023 Pies win the flag
2024 finally plays a final. Kicks 4 but they lose the prelim.
2025 on the outer again. His club and ex club both in the box seat to meet in the grand final.
2025 Despite best efforts still can’t dance. Less coordination than John Howard on Dances with the Stars.
2026 Never really got to play with his brother.
2026 Dreads not greying his hair to fit in with culture and supporters. While his sooks appeared legendary they were just not Geelong.

He’ll join the orange tsunami just after they fall off a cliff and move into rebuild phase

Two things for me. The first being I have NFI how Mitchell can be Teflon coated on this one. I don’t subscribe to the theory that Collingwood sells media this is a story with Mitchell. Pitching to another teams captain a few days out from a SF is ****ing nuts.

The second being that I don’t remember Fly being dumped on. I wasn’t particularly interested in the story because I was neither here nor there on Silvagni, but I remember the media being reasonably fine with it. The only query was that Fly was quite open with it because when he self reported at a presser I don’t think there’d been a suggestion he’d actually met with Silvagni only that we were interested? Unlike Mitchell who seems to just keep getting caught out.
SEN and others questioned Fly meeting in season and telling the truth. One of the panel shows went hard. Fly to his credit stayed the course.

I love Checkers but if i had the choice id be bumping Billys offer up and ensuring he stays when we have West coming through with potentially Membrey and McStay to guide him next year

The Henry sliding doors moments has me greatly amused. We want Henry and he goes for location. In his VFL sooks he displayed his contempt of the club. We did not want Ginivan and now he appears to be flying. Unfortunately we got minimal at the trade table. But how good was TMitchell!!!!! Number 16.

Ginnivan might be flying but he was shunted partly because we had Schultz in our sights

I wonder if there's off field issues with Ollie. Only lasted 2 years at Geelong. Either that or they just don't rate him.
From the outside looking in, I reckon it's a work ethic thing.

I thought when we dropped him in 2022 he would come straight back in but he looked lazy at VFL level too.

If the story is true (I don’t believe it myself) then you’d have to expect that it’s either a work rate or attitude issue but I’m more inclined to think it’s attitude based. He’s 3 years into his time down there so has signed two contracts with them and they’d have been well aware of his work rate when they brought him across. His farts probably smell like roses if you ask Ollie so I doubt he’s taken it well spending so much of 2025 outside the best 23 while the likes of Martin and Mannagh have blown past him.
