Forward projections of our kids aside, if you can get 2021-22 era Spargo back, he'd be an improvement over any of our current small forwards 2025 output.

Half of this forum wants Konstanty demoted to the twos. Well here's a less manic version with better footy IQ and a significantly better kick. He's not a prolific scorer, but if we trade him in, I'll bet he kicks more goals than JK next year.
That Spargo left when his achilles went twang. Beat JK in mark and handball averages this year .... JK wins for kick, tackle and goal averages. I'd rather be tackled by Spargo .....

Honestly I have no idea whether its injuries or form or lack of fitness or some terminal decline that hampered Spargo's 2025 output. But watch this and tell me whether you could imagine Konstanty hitting any more than 20% of those shots.

He certainly wasn't soft or slow that year either. Would be the 2nd highest pressure forward we have after JK.

That Charlie Spargo walks in and I totally agree with you. But, that was eons ago now. We already have Caleb Daniel who can also flick up a vid from a few years ago when he was dancing around like Nureyev .... but those days are gone. I loved the idea of Charlie Spargo when he was drafted, even 2 years ago, but he stayed true to the red and the blue. His dad was a fave of mine, but I think we'll just end up with another undersize bloke that frustrates more than he tantalises.

What do you think about if a top 8 side signs a free agent they get an additional 20-25% salary cap hit. For example if Allen signs for 1mil this yr with Brisbane according to their salary cap they take on 1.25mil? Then it could be if that team was out of the 8 there would be no additional cap hit?
Theoretically not bad but in the real world probably unworkable as would require the AFL to police the salary cap to work

18 goals from 25 games in his best season.

That would make him the most productive small forward on our list.

And a mere Achilles, that doesn't really have impact on his ground coverage or pace.

It's a huge yes for me.

Only because we need someone to take some of the whipping boy load off Caleb Daniel.

Another half forward, just what we need! Apparently between Banch, Payne, Curtis, Harvey, Duursma, Powell, Sheezel, Simpkin RHJ, and Konstanty, we don’t have enough options who can roll through there
At least he can kick so is an automatic upgrade on most of those listed.

All the talk from everyone in the afl was about Edwards - 150k isn’t going to scare anyone off

Nmfc royalty by mick Nolan.

We should have enough mids but Judas , TT and wilphi aren’t no longer here
When did this get announced by the club ?

Absolutely.

It’s a big reason why League people hate Aussie Rules so much and not vice versa, they feel like this was lorded over them for years.

The shoe’s now on the other foot and V’Landys regularly uses it as a talking point because he knows his punters eat it up.

Tbh, nobody gives a shit about rugby here.

V'Landy and other NRL peons in the media can't stop bitching about AFL but nobody in AFL circles says anything negative about NRL. The sport just doesn't matter, don't care if succeeds or dies. People who like AFL will watch AFL. People who like NRL will watch that.

It really is just the inferiority complex shining and it is quite laughable honestly, they look like bitches whining about AFL. It is the exact same inferiority complex people in SA and WA have about Victoria. Every time something happens, it is a VFL conspiracy... It is what it is.

Posted a few days ago the cattle we have for defense which should be more than enough if our mids/ wings are competitive.

We cant fit all the guys that would like midfield time as it is, particularly with the likes of Kerch and FOS demanding more time from now on. LDU, Wardlaw, Parker, Sheez, Simpkin, Powell and Stephens with perhaps the likes of Goater coming on, Scott (if on list) and maybe even RHJ to break glass in case of emergency. An few of that lot will likely have to play in defense anyway.

Ruck we have X, Goad and CCJ in case of emergency.

Forward we have two mediums in Curtis and Zurhaar as good as any. Larkey and two tweeners in Darling and Trembath.

So what do we really need? Not med fwd types or smalls without pace. Sparrow is a pass. To my mind we need a key forward or at least one in development and if he can ruck for 5 or so min a game its a bonus. Bulk of our draft capital should be addressing that with either Schubert or Ludowyke.

I dont see we need much more, we can then be a little more risky. Depending on their head spaces id consider JUH and Hollands if the price right and it matched the risk. id at least interview them and keep an open mind of the risk v reward. Then late picks roll the dice of some fwd speedster types. Cats managed to get a 3 or 4 with using huge draft capital, hopefully we can unearth 1 or 2. Btw im confident Konst can address the goal kicking, he's young and his fwd pressure second to none.

l'm hoping the Matlock can fill this spot next year especially if he can put on some more size. A 200cm forward/ruck is what we need..
