on the assumption only cj, wardlaw ,george, goater and jy are the only ones not playing the intra would like to see the below matchups

essentially best forwards vs best backs
and even mix in the mids

dont want to see larkey matched up on whitlock for example as hes never getting that type of first year 18 year old opponent at afl level

Griff v larkey
chom v darling
corr v teakle
archer v curtis
tucker v bull
daniel v konstanty

xerri v goad
ldu v parker
wilphil v powell
Mckercher v sheezel
urquhart v FOS
stephens v scott

Ford v lmac
Harvey v bergman
Finnbar v Whitlock
Pink v dawson
RHJ v Fisher
Duursma v hardeman

leaves the bench for river, payne, dawson and vfl top ups like Tomlinson, butler, downie, Macpherson and harrop/cappellari

Perks of a pe teacher. Was lucky enough to have North come to my school Monday. Parker wardlaw konstanty and payne. Only got there for the end of it to get a photo with the crew but walked the boys out. Parker was genuinely a nice bloke. Was absolutely thrilled

I played against Parker in U16s when he played for Langwarrin Kangaroos. He was a hard bastard then to the point where our coach sprayed us at 3qtr time with scores even for not making it more difficult for him. Something along the lines of "mark my words, Luke Parker will not play AFL", which obviously backfired but I appreciated what the coach was trying to drive through the group, such was Luke's influence. I think we lost by three points at home, but he was always one I would have loved to see play for North after that match.

Finishing his AFL career in the blue and white and after starting his junior career in the same feels like a nice and neat full circle. Hopefully there's something in that for him and us

Larkey is a known quantity against AFL Level. fast tracking Whitlock development against AFL level is the smarter play here imo.

Never happens that way in the intraclub. It’s always best 22 in blue v likely vfl starters in yellow and then they do some switching around at half time

its always fun when they get a rude awakening coming up against afl oppo best 22 teams after playing against reserves intra

maybe time to switch it up

I’m not opposed to the idea but I suppose the rationale is for the best 22 to test their game style together as a team. And as you say the rude awakening can come in the two practice matches.

Extremely harsh on Chom.

The ball was coming in at lightning pace and there were quite a few occurrences where he got a crucial intercept spoil or mark. He showcased how well he could read the play after being in the backline for 5 minutes. The absolute least of our problems.

Maybe everyone had the second West Coast game stuck in their mind where he made a few errors late in the game (even though the whole team essentially melted).

He kept the dogs key forwards at bay the week after despite how quick the ball came in. Once he was injured, we were doomed.

If I remember correctly wasn’t Chom top 3 interceptors / spare defender in the league before he got injured? Averaged 3 or more intercepts a game

  • 23 years old
  • A lot of games we would be ****ed if he wasn’t playing
  • One of the best intercept defenders we have had since Daw
  • He desperately wants to win at all costs and has that great competitive attitude (refer to that post interview after that Adelaide loss)
  • People forget how he has also play SFA due to injury
  • The club rates him super high

Absolutely devastating and left a huge hole when he was injured. He’s only going to be better in 2025 down back and be crucial going forward to our climb up the ladder.

Some of you lot are way to harsh

It's February, nothing else to complain about
yeah a few trying a bit too hard to be the smartest guy in the room

all other clubs would be queuing up to get chom. Young ,talented, tough, athletic KP's aren't exactly in abundance throughout the comp

People felt the same about CCJ
We lined up. He hadn’t shown quite as much as Comben pre-trade. I think he’d only played 8 games from memory but kicked 5 goals in one of them.

I would easily say Comben has shown more to date and would garner a lot more interest than CJ when we traded him in.

Obviously the proof will be in the pudding. There does seem a stronger mentality amongst the players when they speak and the training has been stronger than previous years from all the track watchers. We have some of the best kids so a progression in their output with the inclusions should amount to winning more of the 50/50 games and holding on in the games where we have been in front late in games. Im a glass half full person but it seems different this year.

Comben kicked 5 in a game has he? I think we are arguing a difference of **** all here.

My PE teacher in Year 7 had a student accidentally impale his shoulder with a javelin from about 25m away - fair to say your day was a more enjoyable experience.

"Accidentally" as in he missed the real target?

you are arguing

no comparison between the 2 now.
If we offered up CCJ as a trade we'd be laughed at, if we offered up chom we'd have more offers from other clubs than you could poke a stick at

Only because of his injury. Lets hope Chom doesn’t do that or his career will wind up the same
