Hoping that means we play Port in Melbourne for once, (potentially our Marvel home game)
They play Marvel better than they play the MCG.

Got beat the best to be the best. Also, as they say in investing - past performance doesn't predict future returns.

Brizzy did it this year, and ended up with a tougher draw than anyone realised at the start of the year. Let's notch up the wins and stop complaining.
You don't have to necessarily do it three times though.

Don’t talk rubbish, the ground fits in 20,000
Our draw is an endless source of disappointment year after year.. The Tassie thing can’t end soon enough… Great for a low drawing, rebuilding team but for a highly marketable contender, it’s just a bad fit now..Get Tassie in and time to cut the cord…

I know the ground only fits 9,000 but a Thursday kind of defeats the whole purpose of Tasmania doesn’t it (which is to draw thousands of tourists to Launceston).
I agree Hawkk, but if you sit down and write a list of all of the parameters... It can't be easy.

Home then away every second week.
The number of interstate games and spacing them.
The number of days between games for each team.
The number of games played at each venue, based on team and venue deals.
Throw Launceston, Hobart and Darwin into the mix.
Double-ups for each team.
Reacha round in Adelaide.
Round zero in Sydney.
Anzac day, Easter and opening round rivalries.
Who to play on Thur, Fri, Sat, Sun
And of course, TV ratings and MONEY.

9000?? 🤣🤣🤣
Don’t let the truth get in the way of a good story…

You do know half the ground (including the centre wing) is now a construction site, right?

The capacity next year is 9,000 not 18,000 to 20,000 as past years. The reduction makes UTAS the smallest ground to feature more than 3 games since the Gabba in the early 90’s. Not a great look for the third largest drawing club (last year).

actually makes a bit of sense for thursday night - reduced capacity means the ground will fill anyway

And spreading the thursday fixtures around the country reduces the number of games any team plays in the same city.
