Is there any chance they start making clubs play an SA team twice at AO in the one year?

For example Carlton play Adelaide at Gather Round in a ‘neutral’ game and then play Adelaide later in an official away game later in the year.
We played both Adelaide and Port last year in Adelaide. Is that what you mean?

With 12 home games (including gather round) the SA clubs I am almost certain ** will continue to host their state rivals in a Showdown plus 11 other clubs.

** This is the AFL, who are known for brain farts, so it can’t be completely ruled out.

Doubt that will happen but some clubs have played 3 games in Adelaide in a season, Lions in 24, someone did this season as well but I can't be bothered checking who, Saints I think.

As an SA Hawk fan, 2024 was incredible for us in terms of actually getting to see us play (3/4 as losses didn't feel good though). Gather Round vs Collingwood, AO games against Port and the Crows, and then the Port final.

No I meant playing Adelaide twice at Adelaide Oval in the home and away season.
1) playing Adelaide at Gather Round at Adelaide Oval.
2) then playing Adelaide again in say round 20 at Adelaide Oval.
I'd say it would cop an almighty complaint from a club getting 2 away games to the same team. Unless they're selling it/getting money from it like a North in WA style, I couldn't see any club agreeing to it. Gather Round already gets enough controversy for "the extra SA home game", I can't see them shafting one club into accepting that sort of treatment.

Collingwood had 3 SA trips in 2023. Gather Round against the Saints and away games against the Crows and Power. And people say we don't travel.

Carlton has got the rough end of the pineapple, playing the Crows twice for Gather Round - if the AFL was genuine about equality, they would have rotated the sides playing Adelaide and Port.
I don’t agree with this match up either. But they have rotated up until this point. Maybe the lack of quality options was the reason for going this way. Up until this point the remaining options were Collingwood, North Melbourne, Richmond and St Kilda.

Good chance we get 3 again this year. Big chance of playing Adelaide twice and we're due to play Port in Adelaide after mainly getting them at the G the last few years.

Why not Brisbane or Sydney?

Will the AFL ensure the four teams playing in qld in OR have byes at same time in later rounds in case of cyclone postponement?
That would require common sense. So no they probably won’t. Though we all know that when those 10 teams have their byes in the early rounds it should be over three weeks. 4 teams, 4 teams, 2 teams.

So it should be:

Sydney, Carlton, GWS, Hawthorn
Gold Coast, Geelong, Brisbane, Western Bulldogs
Collingwood, St Kilda

Will the AFL ensure the four teams playing in qld in OR have byes at same time in later rounds in case of cyclone postponement?
All eight teams won’t have the bye in the same round, but I’d expect Brisbane and the Bulldogs, or Gold Coast and Geelong, have the bye in the same round. Probably the early season bye they’ll share because it’s too hard to get teams to give up their mid-season bye for a game.

So Carlton you think will be...

Round 0 v Swans (Thurs night confirmed)
Round 1 v Tigers (Thurs night)
Round 2 BYE?
Round 3 ???
Round 4 v Nth Melb (Good Fri)
Round 5 v Crows (Thurs night)
