GWS doesn't currently have a pick
"Greater Western Sydney is still seen as unlikely to use a pick to replace the injured Tom Green."

I have a sneaky suspicion that Essendon are gonna take Bamert out from under us

Wouldn’t surprise me if ESS did take Bamert, they’d be far better served taking a genuine mature mid like Herbert though. They desperately need some mature bodies not more kids.

"East Perth backman Jake Soutar looms as the most surprising of state league footballers to be picked up in the mid-season rookie draft on Tuesday, with a Victorian club showing interest.

The West Australian can reveal North Melbourne met with Soutar during the week as they look to bolster their defensive stocks.

It would be an incredible rise for Soutar, who has only established himself in the Royals’ backline this year.
A 190cm key position player, Soutar made his league debut against Claremont in round 20 of last year before playing in the Royals’ reserves premiership victory against the Tigers.

Soutar, 19, had an impressive 28 touches and nine marks in round one to force his way back into the league side the next week, where he has played the past five games averaging 11 touches and five marks.

North Melbourne opened up a spot on their list on Friday when they put first-year defender Blake Thredgold on the inactive list because of a foot injury.

The Kangaroos have been on the hunt for key defenders, having also shown interest in Claremont backman Jasper Peace."

roos_fanatic08 it's going to be interesting, whispers are we know Bamert won't be there (not that hard to surmise really) and our pick could indeed be a backman.......4 more sleeps and we'll know I guess.

Tell your mate no more sub 180cm types

Jasper Pearce also on Eagles radar apparently. I don't know much about either of them.

190cm is not key position.

Sounds like we’re his only Soutar

Obviously having another player on your list consumes finances and resources, but if you had a free spot on the list come whatever draft is coming up, I don’t understand why you wouldn’t be having a free hit at someone, particularly this draft when you literally only have to offer a 6 month contract.

Ergh. Hard to get excited about that.

Was never close to representing the WAFL at champs level. His underage career was okay without being anything outstanding. Watched plenty of East Perth games in his junior years and he never done anything outstanding enough to warrant a write up.

Has literally played 1 dominant game at WAFL senior level. Since then is averaging 11 touches. Had only play 6 senior games. Maybe has some athletic upside but looking back through I don’t think he ever tested the state combine or anything like that.

I could well and truly be wrong but he is the type that needs another 12-18 months at senior level and a bigger sample size of output.

What’s the tip on Bamert? I think he’ll be available.

Essendon - Artemis
Richmond - Herbert

West Coast the risk?

Port & GWS have both been linked to ruckman. Port might end up ahead of us if they beat Carlton too.

190cm is not key position.
Soutar is only 74 kgs. Could not play AFL at that weight.

We play Daniel, Spargo, Simpkin every week, would any of them be over 80?

We're soooo beyond ****ed!

He'd walk into their Best 23.

Gun to your head, you have to choose 1, which way you heading, old mate?

Bamert is my first choice, but would not be upset with someone like Montgomery.

Looking at Adelaide last week, none of them are skinny little weeds. We need players with size, skills, speed and guts.
