Receptionist printing something with 18 but can't see 18 games, 18 weeks, or 18 pounds of flesh?

Ditto marketing putting it all in a letterhead.

Ditto (especially) Legal who was formalising it all. As if they wouldn't have the relevant details if they're drafting the contracts.

Ditto executive ...

Look, no big deal but you either didn't think this post through very well, or you're taking the p1ss.

You see, whenever the AFL receptionist holds up a press release, he/she holds it like this....

No offence mate. The AFL leaking is a huge part of this. I still think they tend to test the waters by doing that sometimes. Classic PR - leak a story and test the reaction - then adjust accordingly for the official part. Hopefully it will conclude very soon. Then more can be said.
The old Scotty from marketing method in action.

Could be the receptionist who was asked to print something.

Or someone from marketing putting it all in a letterhead.

Maybe someone from Legal who was formalising it all.

The executive committee who ticked off on it.

Or a nobody from the Players organisation, or integrity unit, or NMFC, or even someone on TTs camp who helped proof read.

Could be countless ppl who got to glance at a document. Keeping stuff leak proof isn’t easy.

OK - here I go again but reporting what I have heard. New report suggesting the number 18 will figure in the outcome. Not sure if they heard weeks or indiscretions (charges).
This is fantastic ITK information, have you considered changing your username to KickItAnywhereGoKangas?

The point is you've been given information by someone who got to glance at a document or overhead parts. or maybe they got to read it all and don't want to reveal more. or maybe their 'sister' got to read it or heard it and passed it on what they could.

I'm not responsible for your lack of imagination, or assumption that everyone involved in the process actually cares or understands.

You're on here like all of us obviously looking for gossip so just be grateful you got some.

"No one knows what he has done wrong"

Apart from Thomas, the Girl, the AFL integrety unit, North Melbourne, his manager, his lawyer....

Basically everyone that matters.

You just don't know what he has done wrong which apparently equals instantly not guilty....

Don't worry, it will come out once the penalty has been issued...

What the hell are you two on about?

Because YOU don't have evidence and the media don't have the evidence, apparently there is no evidence?!

He was grilled with his lawyer and manager, in person, I'm sure they didn't just come with the defence of "he said she said" and deregister/suspend him for most of a season.
There is no evidence. **** that Girl. You ever met her? Than perhaps you should consider your position

INT. AFL House Docklands
AFL Integrity Unit Dude: Hey team what are the charges?

INT. NAB Bank Docklands
GoKangas' source (Lip Reading) with binoculars through office window: Did he say eighteen charges? I think he said eighteen charges?

GoKangas' source messages GoKangas: They said eighteen, I don't know if that means eighteen charges, eighteen indiscretions or Shakespeare's sonnet number 18; Shall I compare thee to a summer's day?

GoKangas: I'm going to post this on Big Footy, are you okay with that?

GoKangas' source: Yes, just preface it by saying you're just saying what you've been told. I mean I'm sure he said eighteen but it could have been unforeseen charges. Maybe he said submarine charges? Halloween? Maybe it was Halloween indiscretions did Tarryn not go Trick or Treating with her kids? Look just post it, it will generate a few pages of debate and take everyone's attention away from the Commentary & Media thread have you seen the Lunar New Year debate going on in there? Bloody hell.

Sure, but my point is it makes no sense as presented. I suspect it's the "don't want to reveal more" but perhaps gk should have clarified that.

I've got plenty of imagination to think of a whole lot of convoluted scenarios, but I also have the commonsense to dismiss the highly implausible ones the way I did with your list.

Wow,I thought the result was near guaranteed today after hearing it was coming early this week. I wonder how much longer this will go on for...

It's very close. I'm told discussions are happening today to finalise the outcome. One suggestion is that NM are resisting the AFL's decision as too heavy handed.

Good. I was told the AFL wanted North to give him the suspension but North put it back on the afl…. That’s third hand info so not sure how correct

Sorta fits with what I was told. AFL wants blood but NM want it to be more realistic. AFL talking deregister - NM saying a substantial suspension.

lve held back for awhile…..and it seems that the outcome coming is going to be &&$##…but this is what’s going to really p&#&# me off…..if he’s forced out of the club and another “ club….insert name” picks him up for doughnuts…..he clicks…they get praised up almighty by this pathetic media for what a wonderful job they have done to “turn his career around” and cue the what a sh*** job the way it was handled at north….conveniently ignoring the many protocols we put in place that we’re broken / followed .

Truly l have no idea if he’s here or gonski…..and its not like we haven’t been accomodating …..
I wish him well with his life if he’s gone….but geez it’s been a polarising ride.

if he were to part ways with the club l don’t believe it should be an automatic transfer onto another clubs list…why the heck should they get a green light all hunky dory yep he can play…….there should be some enforced time off ( personally if it’s what’s been bantered around…then maybe good bye career permanently) that list ….they simply don’t get to slot him in straight away….and some sort of compensation to us….but yeah it’s the AFL not going to happen …but wishful thinking…

Time will tell on what will happen with this kids career……sad to see it playing out like this……

100%. He’s not off the rails (or on the rails) like Harley Bennell. Another club will pick him up for **** all and he’ll dominate and we’ll have to swallow the garbage that club has turned him around, and the commentators will champion him as a redemption story, but he’s still the same bloke.

I find it genuinely outrageous that deregistration could be on the cards, but I don't doubt the AFL is trying it on.

It now looks like a strategic decision by the AFL to not involve the police. Once a player is charged, the AFL's preferred sanction is held to account by the result of the court case, by handling the case internally the AFL can retain control of the penalty.
