Past #26: Tarryn Thomas [Part III] - [C.Twomey] AFL rules TT is eligible to play in all competitions as of 14 October

OK - here I go again but reporting what I have heard. New report suggesting the number 18 will figure in the outcome. Not sure if they heard weeks or indiscretions (charges).
Careful planning on your part is starting to pay off, Gemini, but be careful that you don't alienate others in your quest to be the best. You may not realize how your harsh words affect the people around you. Be more sensitive to the feelings of others. Focus and be brave in your actions. Hesitation may cause you to lose control of the situation. Know your boundaries, but push beyond them.

Yes.

The idea that there is an AFL integrity unit with leaks is about as peak AFL(WWE) as you can get.

No offense to GK but I tend to take his stuff with a grain of salt and it could sit somewhere between being verbatim type accurate to being his sources just winding him up.

Us plebs in the cheap seats will just need to wait and see what actually happens and then I have no doubt that there will be complaining regardless of outcome.

The whole thing is a sorry state of affairs. All of it. Start to finish, best case to worst.
No offence mate. The AFL leaking is a huge part of this. I still think they tend to test the waters by doing that sometimes. Classic PR - leak a story and test the reaction - then adjust accordingly for the official part. Hopefully it will conclude very soon. Then more can be said.

There's been a few different mentions of an 18 week suspension which will equal 12 games missed. I don't know if thats legit, I have no info, but interesting to see those numbers consistently used.

By leaking to a random on Bigfooty? That's 3D chess ...!

Collingwood won the premiership

We have been on the bottom the last 4 years, and need EVERYTHING to go right.

TT is one of our experienced players and instead of doing EVERYTHING he can, to improve us, he would rather threaten girls on his mobile phone.

He STUFFED up last year and has STUFFED up again this year.

No respect or interest in the club that has given him so much.....

But North Viking, we still need to patient and understanding?
You are really great at making assumptions about what he has done. Fact is no one f’king knows. But hey let’s persecute him.

Collingwood backed DeGoey in when they were near the bottom, after mutiple offences. He has repaid them in trumps. Collingwood had not won a premiership at that time.

Perhaps the message sent to thier playing group was that they will not tolerate the behaviour. However, they were also willing to help and stick by him provided he had the buy in. That to me is what culture is all about. That’s why they are premiers.

We are assuming that TT has reoffended by all reports it appears to behaviour from the past. Who’s to stay he’s not trying to reform, who’s to say he hasn’t bought in and is committed.

But hey. Let’s build on that culture at NMFC by throwing a young troubled man to the wolves.

Is there a reason why you consistently choose to phrase your posts in a such a cryptic way?

Genuine Sesame Street vibes with today's effort....

Just what was said. Spoke to him again and he said he thinks it was 18 'charges' likely to result in an 18 week penalty. Then said AFL wanted more but NM and TT pushed back so 18 was a compromise.

Let's be real here, Thomas has thrown NMFC to the wolves. Every time we back him up, we get it thrown in our face. As a North fan, I hope this all ends up as some big misunderstanding and he wins a flag for us, etc., but his own repeated behaviour has caused this - not North throwing him to the wolves.

Part of what I am hearing is that NM has pushed back on much tougher penalties so hardly thrown him to the wolves. But we won't know how successful that has been until official announcement.

Don't want to bash you as I know you post in good faith, but isn't this just a bit weird? It's as if your source is secretly listening from the next room with a glass to the wall. I mean, how is it that he/she can get a specific number from what's been said, but not know what the number relates to?

Dear me.

Or more to the point, why are they telling anyone and why is that just haphazardly being thrown onto a forum?

Occams razor...

Double checked for accuracy. Supposedly this info comes from a source in the TT loop. I have not had info from him before so lets see. He also repeated some more things I can't post but may come out in due course re the motivation for this whole mess. Again, just what I have been told.

Could be the receptionist who was asked to print something.

Or someone from marketing putting it all in a letterhead.

Maybe someone from Legal who was formalising it all.

The executive committee who ticked off on it.

Or a nobody from the Players organisation, or integrity unit, or NMFC, or even someone on TTs camp who helped proof read.

Could be countless ppl who got to glance at a document. Keeping stuff leak proof isn’t easy.

There are four parties involved - maybe five. AFL, NMFC, TT and possibly Police, plus the complainant/s. Plenty of people know stuff so not surprising to expect some people will talk out of school.

Receptionist printing something with 18 but can't see 18 games, 18 weeks, or 18 pounds of flesh?

Ditto marketing putting it all in a letterhead.

Ditto (especially) Legal who was formalising it all. As if they wouldn't have the relevant details if they're drafting the contracts.

Ditto executive ...

Look, no big deal but you either didn't think this post through very well, or you're taking the p1ss.

I find it hard to believe that we'd stick fat with TT if he's suspended for basically a whole season due to some domestic violence (or adjacent) allegations. Seems like a PR nightmare.

charges date back to 2018 while associating and being led astray by a former captain?.....gee doesn't sound good GK.

If the AFL i s seeking maximum penalty (deregister) I can see the club supporting TT to the extent the penalty is seen as fair by all. I think when it goes public the deliberations will already be completed and the club will not be seen to support his actions at all.
