I didn't say he didn't. I said if he didn't disclose an old matter and this is what the current issue is then he's ****ed.
You seem to be saying that if it's an old issue it doesn't matter.
Im saying if it pre dates his behavioural programs, his punishment thats already been served should be considered. Its obviously not worthy of criminal charges, thats the information we have available.

Im not pointing my finger at you, theres a bunch on here hanging him out to dry without evidence

Thomas prepares for day of reckoning ahead of AFL investigation

Tarryn Thomas has given an indication that his time with North Melbourne could be over.

The club stood down the First Nations talent nearly four weeks ago for the third time in his career, asking him also to train away from teammates while the AFL continued to conduct its investigation into further allegations of his inappropriate behaviour.

The AFL Integrity Unit interviewed Thomas on January 29, but that had been delayed for nearly a fortnight until he was in the presence of legal representation.

The probe into new claims of intimidating another woman appears on track to finish this week, and the length of the case that began several weeks ahead of the Kangaroo midfielder speaking to the AFL suggests the integrity unit will deliver a harsh penalty.

But the Lumaranatana and Kamilaroi man may be prepared to expect the worse.

Thomas reportedly has already removed a number of references in regard to his AFL career across multiple social media platforms.

He got rid of any mention of North Melbourne Football Club from his Instagram bio in addition to unfollowing the club in recent days.

The same also occurred on Thomas's Twitter account, including deleting multiple images from his past three seasons.

The Kangaroos, however, at this stage until after the AFL investigation is revealed at least, has not stopped following Thomas online that could be a sign that the club did not want to pre-empt the final outcome.

Thomas has already removed the famous Nike swoosh since the multinational giant purportedly dropped him as a client last year.

Days before the fresh allegations were made public, Thomas wrote on Instagram: "People will talk down on you, just to say they got the one up".

The 23-year-old was soon thereafter accused of making a serious threat to a woman.

Tarryn Trindall, Thomas' legal name, landed in court last year for threatening to distribute an intimate image of his ex-partner. That charge was later withdrawn without conviction after prosecutors downgraded the offence to using a carriage service to harass, while the court granted him a diversion and a fine of $1000 to donate to charity

After the club suspended Thomas twice last year, North's senior officials requested he attend a respect and responsibility education program to learn how to change his behaviour towards women.

The former North Launceston prodigy, who made his senior debut in the Tasmanian State League at just 15, has also been arrested for breaking court orders against his 2023 partner after police searched his phone for the alleged video.

The National Indigenous Times is not suggesting that North Melbourne, nor the AFL, will terminate the contract of Thomas. But should the allegations be proven again, the AFL may be forced to suspend Thomas given his ongoing issues and the administration's strong stance on respecting women.

At this stage, no police investigation or criminal charges have taken

I wonder if Collingwood fans turned on DeGoey the way some north fans have. Or is this purely a north trait.
Collingwood won the premiership

We have been on the bottom the last 4 years, and need EVERYTHING to go right.

TT is one of our experienced players and instead of doing EVERYTHING he can, to improve us, he would rather threaten girls on his mobile phone.

He STUFFED up last year and has STUFFED up again this year.

No respect or interest in the club that has given him so much.....

But North Viking, we still need to patient and understanding?

Straight swap for Clayton Oliver in the new mid-season trading period*?

Sorry for being flippant, but this saga has worn me out.

How can you say that when no one knows what he has done wrong? Hate to have you as a juror if I was the defendant!

"No one knows what he has done wrong"

Apart from Thomas, the Girl, the AFL integrety unit, North Melbourne, his manager, his lawyer....

Basically everyone that matters.

You just don't know what he has done wrong which apparently equals instantly not guilty....

Don't worry, it will come out once the penalty has been issued...

Who says he didn’t? Everyone is assuming s**t without evidence, which is really piss poor form

What the hell are you two on about?

Because YOU don't have evidence and the media don't have the evidence, apparently there is no evidence?!

He was grilled with his lawyer and manager, in person, I'm sure they didn't just come with the defence of "he said she said" and deregister/suspend him for most of a season.

Geez I’d hope they are picking up Oliver’s wage also.

That’s the only silver lining here, we ain’t on the hook for a 5 year mega deal.

Its not serious enough to be a police matter or there is insufficient evidence. Says it all really

Its not serious enough to be a police matter or there is insufficient evidence. Says it all really

It says nothing actually.

1. It doesn't matter in the slightest. An employee's conduct isn't judged on whether the inappropriateness of their actions are criminal or not.

2. It may also mean she simply hasn't reported the matter to police, yet.

Its not serious enough to be a police matter or there is insufficient evidence. Says it all really

It doesn't say it all. And people have explained why in this thread.

As one-eyed North Melbourne supporters, we all hope TT will not be found guilty and will tear it up this season, signing a contract extension.

When we open the other eye, it's clear that there is evidence that he has done wrong, that evidence is being assessed now, and that evidence will be the basis of any sanction imposed by the AFL.

No more "it's not serious if not a police matter" please. It's either extremely ignorant or simply disingenuous.

Haha. Stop making stuff up.

You seem to be saying that if it's an old issue it doesn't matter.
It’s possible it’s an old matter that he didn’t disclose because he didn’t realise it was an issue until it was raised now?

The AFL's handling of this issue is starting to border on psychological punishment to Thomas and from all reports the NMFC if they are truly in the dark.

The AFLPA are also watching on silently as articles alleging domestic abuse are released daily with no substance or indication of what the new allegations are. We know that there has been a complaint made, and that nor the AFL or the complainant has decided to involve police, so what’s causing the delay?

Is there a plan to announce a severe (or maybe soft) punishment during the Grand Prix, hoping it won't be on the front page news? It’s astonishing that this was reported a month ago and with less than a month to go before Round 0, there’s no sign of any resolution for player or club.

It’s been disgustingly managed by the afl.
From their own media unit breaking the story, to attempting to railroad him into a meeting, to extreme delays.

Can anyone tell me why?

I am a bit torn on this. Obviously, nobody condones domestic violence and we know he's had his issues, and to date, his offending has been on the lower side (making threats but no actual action if I am not wrong) so the issue I have is his own mental health and his own chances of rehabilitation and not wasting his life (never mind a career). With him being in the club environment he has at least kept himself relatively clean. Imagine what happens to him if he's pushed out of the system. I can see this ending up very badly for him.

I guess what I am saying is that I'd like to hear the details first before I show him the door. If, for example, it's an old offense that wasn't disclosed or somehow was kept under the carpet, while not looking good it's not the same as him re-offending after all the programs he attended to change his ways. I just want to make sure AFL tries to look after the woman in question but also look after Thomas who they also have a responsibility to help in this.

Very measured post.

OK - here I go again but reporting what I have heard. New report suggesting the number 18 will figure in the outcome. Not sure if they heard weeks or indiscretions (charges).
man, even duck's getting involved now? crazy

I appreciate you have good sources, but FFS anyone in a position to hear this stuff shouldn't be talking about it.

Yes.

The idea that there is an AFL integrity unit with leaks is about as peak AFL(WWE) as you can get.

No offense to GK but I tend to take his stuff with a grain of salt and it could sit somewhere between being verbatim type accurate to being his sources just winding him up.

Us plebs in the cheap seats will just need to wait and see what actually happens and then I have no doubt that there will be complaining regardless of outcome.

The whole thing is a sorry state of affairs. All of it. Start to finish, best case to worst.
