On an unrelated note, if you pay for a beer with a $50 note and ignore the $40 change, you can go around telling anyone who will listen that the beer cost you $50.

Cheers.
This analogy is getting tiresome.

All $ of currency have equal value.

Receiving picks 38 and 40 back for pick 15 doesn't diminish the value of pick 15. ie - you have the 15th go at the best new kids in the land instead of the 38th and 40th goes.

A closer analogy would be paying $50 for a beer, getting $40 change and getting a voucher and the seller taking a 2 for 1 discount voucher for a 6-pack off you in the same transaction.

Severely underestimating the points value trading of last year.

In 2014 i wouldn't agrue at all, probably not even this year, but last year was a very different beast!

Points are arbitrary.

Pick 5 gets me the 5th best available kid in the country in my judgement.

Someone giving me picks 41,42,43,44 in exchange for pick 5 doesn't achieve this no matter what algorithm Gillian Turing cranked out to the contrary in his man cave.

Mills - 3rd best available kid - cost 33, 36, 37, 43
Kennedy - 13th best kid - cost 34, 40
Hipwood - 14th best kid - cost 36, 37
Himmleburg - 16th best kid - cost 48, 50, 55, 59

Like it or not its what was.

Thats what happened, it is what it is and simply thats FACT.

It will forever be that way in history and a stuborn point of view because someone refuses to agree with it wont chance a thing.

The 3rd best available kid and probable rising star winner cost 33,36,37,43 in the 2015 draft.

FACT!!!!!

A closer analogy would be handing over $50 for the beer, the barman getting confused and giving you back $60, you still have your beer and the $50 as well as $10 for another beer. But since you don't get your other beer until later some people still think the first one cost you $50.

Burton was widely tipped to slip out of the top twenty at the time. I'm willing to bet we had our eye on him or McKay either way so that we got one, managed to get Clarke (who was worth Dangerfield IIRC) and added Jed while at the same time offloading Bastinac I think is a huge win.

2 people called up SEN today and said Jed should be delisted.

WTF??????!!!!

Give him a chance.

As ArjenTheGreat would say- to play AFL you need at least 1 of 3 skills, Hard, Farst or Skillfull. Jed is all 3.

Patience people. Patience.
And we need farst players.

If the last 2 months have proven anything, it is that jed is not skillful. ill also add that you need impeccable decision making ability, something again that jed has lacked.

What worries me is how far off he is from afl level. Absolutely he's had some injuries, but i have struggled to see anything he has done right lately. He has great endeavour, but when the ball falls his way, the attack dies. Needs a big pre season.

I really like him and think he will end up a very good player for us, but I don't think he's shown much of the latter of those 3 yet. Definitely hard and fast though.

He's Skillfull. It might not show at AFL level yet but it will. You don't lose natural ability.

I'm not saying he'll be a star, he might be, all he has to do is keep having a crack and the rest will come. He has more natural ability then all our other 2016 draftees, excluding McKay.

Go and watch training. You'll see the skills are there.

I honestly hope you're right, but it's just been a complete shock at how far off the pace he is at the moment. Being picked for round 1 was a pretty big deal over blokes like garner, but garner is miles ahead of him.

I can see glimpses of things here and there, but under pressure it all falls away. He can have fantastic skills at training but if he can't deal with pressure he'll never make it and we'll never see his good skills. Needs to come back to pack with a big preseason.

One of those callers was an absolute tosser, reading out a list of his suggested additional delistings as long as a phonebook.
