SA accent always seem to be a bit more "toffy" compare to others Australia accents

he sounds like a bogan from NZ though :P

Remember that some role players may have to give up on stats just to fulfil Hardwicks game plan. I think with Cotch out he was asked to get his own ball today and did a great at job.

Sometimes we as supporters are quick to judge player performance from stats alone when inside the four walls of the club the coaches have completely different benchmarks they use to determine player performances.

Totally spot on. Well said and explained.

Lambert was the same early on in his senior career when he had a negative run with role. Now look at him.

As I said on another post, this kid is projecting beautifully. Watch once he gets a better fitness base the next 2 years, tones up, like Dusty did at the same time in his career and bang, we'll have something special here a la a Jordan Lewis mould of player or something in that vein.

He was good today against Freo, he's just a great pick, especially at the number we got him.

Great post. His game today was excellent and he may even poll a Brownlow vote. Funny game today when considering Brownlow votes, Fyfe was clearly BOG in the 1st half but his team lost by 12 goals. On the other hand we didnt have a standout player. Complete team effort. Brilliant!

They can have the Brownlow votes every week if it means we go back to back.

Was very good today.

His best game since the gf.

Also his first goal since the GF.

Also;

His first goal in the AFL, vs Fremantle.
His first goal in 2018, vs Fremantle.
His average winning margin vs Fremantle, 90.5.

TI this graph basically tells you why Reecey gets a game. Consistently meets the metric for pressure.

I haven't seen the game yet, was he given a licence to get the ball more or was he used defensively. To me he is a see ball get ball player.
im sure the coaches would be encouraging him to do just that, I feel he has got the balance not right so far focussing too much on blanketing his oppo, still early in his journey, I believe in him as a 200 gamer

Agree, but Reece’s pressure work drops bc of his other deflating traits, such as decision making and disposal . He’s an interesting one and I still doubt he will survive to see September action. Hope to be proven wrong , but I’m not holding my breath.

I actually think he makes a lot more good decisions than bad ones.

But the disposal so often makes his decisions look terrible. He needs to take a leaf out of the Rance book and work within his limitations. All being said, within everyone fit, he is probably 23-25, in the emergencies.

Thought he was terrific yesterday, his composure under pressure is great and his work ethic is on another level. Also his kicking is very solid, especially considering this was seen as a glaring weakness of is.

real steal in the draft, love him

Every time I see him get the ball, I think to myself "Jack Graham, that is". It's engrained in my brain.
