AFL Club
Richmond
1. Melbourne, Jack Watts: This was an easy pick, Melbourne really needs a dominant key forward and Jack will bring this to the club. A player you can build a team around.

2. West Coast, Daniel Rich: The eagles have shown in the past that the go for best available and Rich is definitely the best after Watts.

3. Fremantle, Nick Naitanui: This kid be anything a key forward or a key back maybe a ruckman, but he will be a big asset for Freo in the future.

4. Port Adelaide, Tyrone Vickery: After the delistings of their 2 back up ruckman this pick has become almost guaranteed. He will bring a forward option as well as his ruck ability.

5. Essendon, Hamish Hartlett: May surprise a few but the bombers will be adding to their very young midfield with another gun. Has the ability to be a both inside and outside midfielder.

6. Carlton, Michael Hurley: Will give Carlton a future full-back to add to the duo of Jamison and Austin, could also be forward to help out Fevola.

7. Brisbane, Jack Ziebell: He will give the lions a hard at it midfielder with the ability to turn into a third tall. Will be the future replacement for Black.

8. Richmond, Jackson Trengove: The tigers will be laughing with this versatile kpp. I could have gone with a midfielder but because Hartlett or Ziebell weren’t available, I went with a need.

9. North Melbourne, Steele Sidebottom: North will go best available and this also suits a need will be a great pick up with his mixture of goal kicking and defensive abilities.

10. Adelaide, Shaun McKernan: Well what I have watch of the crows they need a lead up forward and they will be getting this with McKernan. Could also become a back up for Bock.

11. Collingwood, Mitch Robinson: The magpies need a gun inside/outside midfielder and they will be getting this with Mitch. Could start in the team round 1.

12. Sydney, Lewis Johnston: Is the perfect future forward prospect has a good mix of pace and size. Could take a while to develop but the wait will be worth it.

13. St Kilda, Chris Yarren: Could be the steal of the draft or the bust. Has all the tools to become the next Shaun Burgoyne but he doesn’t seem to have the application. This also could be taught into him though.

14. Western Bulldogs, Ayce Cordy: This father-son pick will end up filling a big need for the bulldogs. He could become the next number 1 ruckman and also could become the next full forward.

15. Geelong, Stephan Hill: I think that Geelong will just go best available; Hill is a very talented winger/half back with good pace and a excellent kick.

16. Hawthorn, Nick Suban: Some people may say that I have Suban too high but I believe that he will become a replacement for Dew then as he develops could start to play in the midfield. He is known for his huge left foot and can also rack up the possies.

Priority-

17. Melbourne, Sam Blease: A very quick half back that could slide. His fitness isn’t that great but his pace and kicking skills will make up for it, could be the steal of the draft.

18. West Coast, Tom Swift: His knee injuries will make him drop to here because of the risk but it could also turn out to have the biggest reward. A ball winning utility that can also finish.

Round 2-

19. Melbourne, Ash Smith: His kicking and ability to find space will excite demon fans here. Will start out as a roaming half forward while developing to become a midfielder.

20. West Coast, Rhys O’Keefe: The eagles will be stoked with this half back, he is hard at it but he can also hit a pin point pass. Will team up well with Hurn.

21. Fremantle, James Strauss: Freo will love this kid can play off the halfback line but can also become a solid tackling inside midfielder. Will never let you down.

22. Port Adelaide, Ryan Shoenmakers: Ryan will be a perfect fit for Port’s developing forward line. Could be their next centre half forward but I would think that he would be a better half forward flanker.

23. Essendon, Jordan Lisle: Will be a very good pick at this selection, can play down forward or back but for Essendon’s needs he will probably play down back.

24. Fremantle, Neville Jetta: He will be the perfect replacement for Farmer will start out as a forward pocket but will move into the midfield later in his career.

25. Brisbane, Daniel Hanneberry: Lions will be getting another midfielder with this pick, Daniel is very good in traffic but also has a very good left foot kick. Dominated the long distance tests at draft camp.

26. Richmond, Luke Shuey: He is more of an athlete than a footballer but he has a good ability of reading the play and knowing where to be. Will compliment the tigers young midfield.

27. North Melbourne, Matthew DeBoer: Is a pretty big bodied midfielder and the kanga’s are known to like that in a player. With his pace will complement their inside players like Simpson and Harris.

28. Adelaide, Aaron Cornelius: I have gone with another tall forward for the crows but he is totally different than McKernan, he is not as athletic but he makes up for it with his good hands and ability to read the play.

29. Collingwood, Matthew Broadbent: Is a gun midfielder which the magpies will be stoked with. Both picks have been different than what Collingwood usually go with but both players will suit them well.

30. Sydney, Nick Heyne: This kid will be the perfect replacement for Davis. Is a very talented mid sized forward that could become a very good midfielder.

31. Western Bulldogs, Paul Cahill: I think the dogs will go tall here Cahill will most likely replace Welsh in the forward line. Could also be a very good centre half forward.

32. Western Bulldogs, Kade Klemke: With this pick the dogs will go best available and that’s exactly what Kade is. A very underrated back pocket that will become a midfielder in the future.

33. Geelong, Tom Lynch: The cats will go tall with this pick, Lynch will be the replacement for Mooney but could also turn into a half forward flanker. It will just depend how the cats want to use him.

34. Hawthorn, Dayne Beams:

62. Sydney, Caleb Tiller

Shannon Coughlan could be a smoky that has very good pace, never gives up and also has great tackling ability. If he does go in draft aspect him to go around the forth to fifth rounds. Casey Sibasado could also be another smoky is projected to be the next Lance Franklin but I don’t really believe the hype, could go as early as the 3rd round but may not be picked up at all.

I like this phantom draft, but i think that the swans will grab roughead if he is available at pick 30. I would like us to get Johnston but would prefer us to take a risk an pick yarren. Would be very happy to get Luke stanton at pick 61 and dont know much about caleb tiller but im presuming hes a relation to Stephen Tiller.

Awesome job!
To be honest I only read the first round and then went to see who you got for Adelaide.

I am not keen on Mckernan, very keen with Cornelious (pick 28), David Zaharakis with our 3rd rounder would be a steal.
I would love to see Adelaide go Hill with their 1st rounder.

Again, well done.

would much prefer nick heyne and a ruckman for the tigers but well done

I just belived that Shuey was a better fit than Heyne because I think of Heyne as more of a forward not a midfielder. Also I didn't think there was any good ruckman avaliable at any of our picks but we may pick one up in the rookie draft.

I like it from a Melbourne perspective.
It's good to see that you havn't just given us two forwards in our first 3 picks, just because that's what Hawthorn did.
I'm also interested as to why you've given us Redden over Roughead, I rate them on an even par and I'd possibly lean towards Redden, but interested why you've given us the interstater instead of the local...

Fremantle would be dissapointed with the draft.

After our midfield being identified as an area of weakness, we pick a ruckman, an inside mid/HBF and a small forward with our first 3 picks.

If in the unikely scenario that Nat fell to 3. We would be picking pure onballers at 21 and 24. Not part-timers.

I don't understand the obsession with Fremantle targetting a small forward. I know we lost Jeff Farmer. But small forwards are like the icing on the cake.

We can pick them up next year, or the year after. We've got many other areas which need addressing first.

Pretty happy with this from a Crows perspective
not sure if i like us getting another tweener with our first pick
we haven't had that good a record with these types early on in drafts
I'll reserve judgement on him though
good to see someone not giving us Johnston for a change

would be thrilled with Cornelius (or Heyne) and Zaharakis in the second and third

probably would rather Sharples than Smouha in the forth but still a good job there for us

wouldn't be disappointed if this panned out on draft day

Love it from a Melbourne perspective. 3 talented talls and two lightning quick mids is exactly what I think we should be targetting. :thumbsu:

I went with Redden because I belive that he is more of a tap ruckman than an endurance one (Roughead). So to have a dominant midfield you need to have one of both but tap ruckman are harder to find.

I don't actually know that much about Freo's list but I thought that Nat would be a back-up ruckman/CHB, Strauss to develop into the midfield and Jetta to be the crumbing forward. I actually can think of Freo probably picking up Adam Cockie in the later rounds which will be another midfielder.
