Got beaten a few times 1 on 1. But was solid when he had the pill and can't remember any real blues he made.
Persist with Kallan for the rest of the season, to help him get the tempo of AFL footy. Hasn't done an AFL pre season yet, so plenty of upside in terms of getting fitter and stronger.
Scooter, Taz and McKay all took a little while to get going.

They weren't 24 years of age when playing their first game either.

Dawson did ok today for a first gamer - some reasonable things, some poor things.

He just looks too small to play anywhere near the 2nd/3rd KPD at AFL level - he appears closer to 190cm's than the reported 196.

Lachie Young comes straight back in next week.

All fair, but remember the s**t that was posted about Young up until recently? Give him a run of a few games.

That's true
Hoping he might be a similar case to Scooter who debuted at 22 and struggled in his first year.
Similar height and both only played basically half a year of state league footy before being picked up.
Think he'll benefit from a full pre-season and could hold his spot over Bonar.

From your user name, I take it that you don’t like to cut short any list decisions?

Was surprised with how composed he was on field today. Just needs to work on the contested ball otherwise he'll do well at the roos. Get some more experience and put on some size and we're onto a winner. Was put on Stewart for most of the game today and was just outmatched in both weight and height. Might have done better on a Harry Jones type.

as people have said his 1 v 1 work needs work but apart from that thought he did alright for a debut very composed with ball. would prefer him playing the rest of the season over Corr

Tarrant was 26 when he finally went down back after 4 failed years as a forward.

He also had Thompson and Firrito along side him.

Hate to pot a first gamer here but from watching the game there I reckon Jones kicked two on him, Stewart three and there was about 2-3 missed spoils as well. Did not look anything like what we need as our next key defender. That was to the naked eye too I might add but I thought his body positioning and mistimed spoils were not a great indicator for future performance.
