How are we travelling at the moment?

Buckley and Tarrant are burning. Burns Clemo Williams and Wakelin are good. Fraser, Davis, Licuria, Holland and Shaw are showing gradual improvement after slow starts. Lokan and Woewoedin are variable. McKee and Johnson are finding themselves somewhat exposed. Rocca, Molloy, and Didak seem out of sorts to me. Cole Scotland and McGough are showing bits but not securing a spot.

The attack has been good the midifeld skinny apart from Bucks, the rucks pretty bad, and the defense has conceded quite a few easy goals.

Overall we don't look that crash hot. Yet we are still travelling OK, 5-4 is no disgrace at this stage. I guess it shows the system is working, we are still capable of winning when we're a bit down.

Hopefully our system will hold up and we'll start beating the top sides once a few more players find form. Boy do we need to beat Port, this is a true 8 point game.

Let's remind ourselves we play the 2 softest teams in the league the 2 weeks after this game...Melbourne and Hawthorn...if we win this week we are a big chance for 8-4 with then games against the Dogs and the Roos and Freo at home.

Let's remind ourselves that teams seem to find our defence easier to deal with now. Notice no mention of Cloke by Cyclops...Freudian block out of the bad .

Glad to see Rhys step up...gunna be better than Stinky and Leon IMO.

I think Cole is securing his spot. Rocca is inconsistant but still good. Cloke and the way we use him in our gameplan has been exposed. Notice how now we have different players being the third man up at a contest and not just relying on Cloke.

Yep, and I forgot O'Bree. I think Cloke has a place, and when we get Presti and Wakelin both in and firing we'll be better.

Travelling just fairly at the moment.
I agree with you Hoggy after this week the draw is a little kinder to us.
Bucks, Burns and Taz are the standouts so far.
BJ, Molloy, Josh, Dids, McKee, O'B are well down on form
The rest are just moderately OK.

A solid backline has been the missing ingredient this season. Individually most of our defenders are battling, yet when they all pull together and work within the system they are effective as any back 6 out there. I hope last weeks performance against the Aints was a turning point.

Josh appears to be making progress in the ruck which is also our other weakness at this point.

We might be 5-4 now but we will be 10-5 in six weeks time. There are a lot of basket case clubs we haven't played yet.
