I wonder if Clarko had a plan B in place over the Summer if this backman distributor role was to not work out. We hear a lot about Clarko wanting players with more than just a one wood in their golf bag. How long does one persist before going to Plan B if there is actually one in place. I think now is the time to pull the trigger and send him to the bench, sub or VFL as a statement. There are standards here and you are falling well below expectations.

Considering he was willing to give the handball that was clearly the wrong option I dare say it says the opposite.

I should've phrased it better- at no stage did Charlie exonerate Daniel. And he summarised the scenario a couple of times.

Gives me the impression of the review feedback being:

Charlie - at that stage of the game you needed to hold it up and take the pace out of it with a slower option

Caleb - you're a senior player why did you call for it and trigger a chaotic situation?

Caleb struggles to kick over a jam tin, I doubt he’d get the ball from docklands to whatever bar JUH is frequenting instead of watching his teammates

He has some class and experience, which are not in a huge supply on our list. For a combination of reasons, it hasn't worked well so far, but not all is on him. Partly it's how he's used, and partly it's about him gelling with the rest of the backline and midfield. I do think he will come good as the season progresses

Absolutely. And he hasn't been awful. Disappointing, yes, but I've had high expectations.

I'm giving him a few more games yet. Confident he'll click.

The “senior” bloke/clown shouldn’t have called for it. Was kick chasing at its finest.

The perfect time for him to clear Daniel so to speak was when reviewing that play. He never did, it was conspicuous by absence.

He was quite clearly speaking about his review and what he should have done differently in the circumstance. There was nothing to clear CD about as it was question at Chom about Chom.

The only reference to CD is describing him as elite by foot, so to insinuate that the takeaway from the interview was "Tell us you don't rate Caleb Daniel without telling us you don't rate Caleb Daniel." is clearly just a personal take of you don't like CD.

All that being said I hope Daniel got a bake about it from the coaches because it was ridiculous to call for the receive there considering the pressure around him and the fact he was running around onto his oppo.

I think CD is trying to do too much.
He has come over with a point to prove, knowing he will be a leader & the general down back for record breakingly shit team & he is just trying to do a little too much IMO.
He calls for every handball receive, he is holding onto the ball too long waiting for an option or trying to hit the perfect pass & it has not been working.
I think as the season progresses & hopefully we get a few more wins on the board, the pressure on him will ease & he will start trusting teammates around him to take some of the load of distributing down back.

Or he won’t & he’ll keep being shit…
