I saw an article suggesting he was in the $700-$750K a season range. That’s only $32K a game if that lessons the pain

The Geelong plants in the media basically forced the trade. Brady Rawlings saved our off season.

Edit: In saying that, I think everyone was hoping CD would excel at North, sad to see how it’s turned out. He did play midfield at the Dogs so it makes sense why Clarko was trying him in there.

Yep. Unfortunately you guys didn't really have much ground to stand on. Whole footy world knew he wanted out and wanted to go to only one team and Bailey was hanging with the Cotton on Crew at the GF from memory (disgusting), so basically you either take 17 and the swap of later picks or force him into the draft and get nothing.

Sure. We had 29 (25), which was the Daniel pick, but we would've have to move up two spots to get Tigers 27.

They are statues because (i) as you say there is no plan and (ii) players have no confidence to run more than 40 meters as CD may not be able to make the distance.

Its worse than that.

The oppo has free reign to squeeze the ground because he's so slow and kicks it 17 metres. It absolutely ruins the chances to progress the ball with speed and depth.

We downgraded pick 63 for pick 70 in that trade and then didn't use that pick. Wouldn't really call it as pulling one over on us there. It just helped them to facilitate it as a 3 way trade with Brisbane to pick up Stef Martin.
