Rubbish defender. When Laird ran past him, Logue called him out and he told him to back off. Lead like a man and accept responsibility for watching him waltz past you. Time to hold everyone to account. He will next year I reckon.

Yeah same. Launched a few attacks when we were on.Um... thought he was OK![]()
Just finished watching a replay and was expecting a horror show based on the comments but I thought he was pretty good today.Um... thought he was OK![]()
Could you imagine being a defender getting barked at by a garden gnome telling you how to defend when he can’t even defend a witches hat.One thing I noticed live in the smaller ground is that he is very, very vocal in organising the defence.
Imagine being a garden gnome left to defend someone 192cm while the tall blokes zone off.Could you imagine being a defender getting barked at by a garden gnome telling you how to defend when he can’t even defend a witches hat.
Yeah exactly, liability man on man and a liability in a zone. Apparently the only way he is effective as a defender is when he’s playing forward of centre.Imagine being a garden gnome left to defend someone 192cm while the tall blokes zone off.
Much, much better using his strengths pressing up the ground. Why are you going to make me defend Caleb Daniel?
He had 13 kicks and 12 handballs at 80% disposal efficiency. He had 3 interception possessions. Three I50s. 0 frees against. 4 score involvements.
He was good yesterday. He's been bad earlier in the year and deserving of criticism. But yesterday he was good.
He was so effective playing up the ground last week.
So what do we do this week? Back to taking the kicks in
What is even the point of getting frustrated over this anymore when we keep making problems for ourselves that are easily fixable
**** me
I have seen 3 blocks this season outside the forward 50.Something that often goes unnoticed is just how often he's hanging there for a handball receive from one of the kids with a bloke on their hammer instead of laying the much needed block for them. That's gotta stop.

Said the same thing at the game. Boggles the mind.
The amount of times I saw him just standing there guarding space, FFS.As a defender yah gots to be able to defend. Daniel is shithouse at this. Bottom Line. :stern look
This is him in a nutshell.I’m confused by this.
Do you want him to play as one of the back six but only play up the ground? Because he still played as a defender against the tigers and took 4 out of 9 kick-ins.
He has played as a defender all year although it’s hard to tell because 80% of the time he’s defending grass. If he played inside mid or wing, he would get totally monstered.
Are we trying to create a new position to utilise his talents? A defender who doesn’t play in the D50?
Not just him either imo.Something that often goes unnoticed is just how often he's hanging there for a handball receive from one of the kids with a bloke on their hammer instead of laying the much needed block for them. That's gotta stop.

I don’t want him playing deep is the point.I’m confused by this.
