Not sure if you are being nice or nasty, maybe a bit of both. When he's on the inside he looks like an outside player, but when he's on the outside he looks like an inside player.
That's a remarkable skill.
No, I was definitely being critical. Jack Ross perpetually disappoints me, year after year, with his lack of composure and development beyond foot soldier. Not sure if you are being nice or nasty, maybe a bit of both.
He has never been predominantly either but the second in the chain giving it to the third. Doesn't put his head over it like Hopper or Taranto but is more like Prestia who in his peak got it from the likes of Cotchin and always on the move when he got the ball.
I think Cumming is going to be a similar type. Maybe Smillie will be the inside player with good skills. I guess we will have to wait and see on that. Pity they are not all there right now, but it will happen.
I’m not a Ross fan, but thought he was amongst our best against Freo.he used teammates in better positions by hand, in centre clearances a number of times.. showed a bit of composure against good opposition.Watched a different game to me. Ross is the only mid besides Lalor who will set up players into a better position and doesn't put them under pressure, especially by hand.
Same number of possessions as Taranto for the year, 2 less clearances. These two are not the problem. Yes it would be nicer if he was a bit quicker, but who is going to take his place in the middle, Hopper and Prestia, been poor and average.
Mcauliffe in for Hopper then at least we have a bit more toe until Campbell and co. find their feet.
Not sure what you are looking for in Ross. Equals Taranto in possessions this year, is our no.1 in score involvements, as he was last year. 2 behind Taranto for clearances and he uses the ball far better than Taranto. He is no Lalor, but would be our most constructive mid behind him, granted that is not saying an awful lot.No, I was definitely being critical. Jack Ross perpetually disappoints me, year after year, with his lack of composure and development beyond foot soldier.
But despite the array of clear deficiencies in his game, he gives his all. He's a Tiger, and I'll support his naming in the senior team if the match committee continue to do so. I have no grudge, like you see in some of the shitposters around here - I genuinely want him to do well.
C+He’s never going to be more than a B-grader. Least of our worries though
How can a player who is averaging 23 possessions a game @76% disposal efficiency in a side on the bottom of the ladder by a C+.C
C+
He's being marketed as a mid who is in the leadership group and getting a game without question, though. That in itself is a problem. He’s never going to be more than a B-grader. Least of our worries though
Some people have their minds made up despite facts proving otherwise. How can a player who is averaging 23 possessions a game @76% disposal efficiency in a side on the bottom of the ladder by a C+?
See what I mean?He's a dud.

And he nearly did. It wouldn't have mattered much if McIntosh or Ross played in the 2019 GF instead of Pickett. We were still winning by plenty.Good player who you could see being part of a premiership side easy enough.
Who are we trading him to for this premiership?Good player who you could see being part of a premiership side easy enough.
Spot on, it’s the mix we’ve got in there. He'd be fine in the middle with a different group of players, thats the issue they are all the same type, slow and poor to OK foot skills.
Its the mix thats wrong not any individual player, Hopper is pushing that though he has just been poor all round.
This season his stats areHe's being marketed as a mid who is in the leadership group and getting a game without question, though. That in itself is a problem.
