I find a lot of these sides don't have the best players in them, but the most improved players or the ones who have had a bit of a purple patch. Yes some have improved out of sight yet the old hands are still better. E.g. Ballantyne is playing great, yet Chapman is still better and deserves a AA spot more. I'm not great at picking these sides but I'll have a go.

FB: Rawlings Lake Grundy
HB: Griffen Taylor Enright
C: Bartel Judd Simpson
HF: O'Keefe Brown Chapman
FF: Betts Pavlich Petterd
R: Sandilands Ablett Barlow
I/C: Jamar Hodge Wellingham Ballantyne

minimum 3 games played

FB: Rawlings, Lake, Drummond
HB: Gilbert, Grundy, Hodge
C: O'keefe, Swan, Bartel
HF: Chapman, Brown, Rioli
FF: Wellingham, Hall, Pavlich

R: Sandilands, Ablett, Griffen

I: Jamar, Grimes, Goodes, Montagna

Decided to go for flexibility on the bench. Jamar 2nd best ruck so far imo. Grimes has been really good this year and can play in defense or midfield. Goodes can play anywhere and Montagna has been great and really deserves a spot in the starting 18

quite a few players unlucky not to be named. Boyd, Fevola, Bradshaw, Pears, Kennelly, Malceski, Mcdonald.

I know Wellingham plays through the center, but I did what all AA selectors do and gave a deserving midfielder a spot in the forward line

B: Harry O'Brien - Harry Taylor - Sam Gilbert
HB: Nick Malceski - Heath Grundy - Corey Enright
C: Leigh Montagna - Ryan Griffen - Ryan O'Keefe
HF: Brendon Goddard - Matthew Pavlich - Paul Chapman
F: Eddie Betts - Jonathan Brown - Barry Hall
R: Aaron Sandilands - Luke Hodge - Gary Ablett
INT: Mark Jamar - Michael Barlow - Michael Rischitelli - Jimmy Bartel

Forwards are hard to pick. Betts has been the best small this year and Hall gets in purely because he has kicked the next best amount of goals.

Unlucky: Not many forwards have been good this year. Ballantyne, Kennedy.

Good to see some of you recognizing Jamar.

If you are looking at performances alone this year, he should be in everyone's squad.

B: Harry O'Brien Brian Lake Heath Grundy
HB: Sam Gilbert Harry Taylor Luke Hodge
C: Ryan O'Keefe Jim Bartel Michael Rischitelli
HF: Brendon Goddard Jonothan Brown Paul Chapman
F: Ricky Petterd Barry Hall Eddie Betts
R: Aaron Sandilands Ryan Griffen Gary Ablett Jnr
I: James Frawley Michael Barlow Mark Jamar Sharrod Wellingham

Finally some one recognising that Rischitelli is playing well.

Yep look I'm not much of a Rawlings fan but since late last year he has just smashed everyone he has played on. Steadies the backline with his experience and makes good decisions almost all of the time. His skills have improved too so if he keeps it up he is a lock for AA as far as I am concerned.

My quick take without too much thought:

Malceski, Lake, Drummond
Grundy, Taylor, Goddard
Griffen, Barlow, Montagna
Chapman, Brown, O'Keefe
Hall, Pavlich, Betts
Sandilands, Boyd, Ablett
Bartel, Kruezer, Gilbert, Judd*

*Hasn't played every game yet, but on reputation and form thus far sneaks into the final spot.

Lots of taller players doing really well thus far.

Harry Obrien has an average of three goals against per game, hence why I did not include him in my side.

where did u get that stat from, id say hes conceded 5 or 6 goals max this year

Agreed...?
He played on Monfries for most of Sunday's game and he didn't kick a goal
Hawthorn he played on Cyril who kicked 1
St Kilda he played on Milne who kicked 1
Melbourne, Green kicked 3
Can't remember who it was against the Dogs, but it wasn't Barry Hall (who kicked 3) and next most was Hahn with 2., so the most he could have conceded per game is 1.7

No Mcglynn Aussie being tough on the man.Has kicked the same amount of goals as Betts has had more possessions and more tackles as well and played one less game.
Two good games, two ordinary games and missed one with injury. Small forwards haven't been that good this year so you could put him based on two near BOG's. Milne and Betts have been pretty good and more consistent than McGlynn.

I have probably missed some obvious ones. but here we go anyway

B: Walker, Frawley, Gilbert
HB: Wellingham, Taylor, Goddard
C: Vince, Barlow, Brennan
HF: Riewoldt, Brown, McGlynn
F Pavlich, Bradshaw, Petterd
R: Sandilands, Hodge, Ablett
Int: Grundy, Jamar, Gibbs, Thomas

unlucky, Green, Pendlebury, Stanton, Sylvia, Judd, Goodes, O'Keefe and others
