Yeah he'll rack up a few 1s and maybe the odd 2 but that's about it unfortunately, might get to 10 votes.

I cant see him getting that many without getting 4 3s, his last 3 weeks have probably his best 3 matches and probably only got 4 votes in total.

I mean, he's really good so he might but it's his first year getting real media plaudits and we've won one game.

I'd say 7 potential vote games so far, based both on his performance and that of the team. However, there might be the odd game where we still get slapped but he was just immense, like against Freo.

I agree with DapperDon, somewhere between 12 and 16. I can imagine him getting a 3 vote somewhere, maybe a couple of 2s....and a chunk of 1s. Been incredibly consistent at racking up big numbers and has stood out. Will be noticed IMO.

FWIW, I'd love for DapperDon to be right. The kid is an absolute gem and deserves a medal for his effort this year.

He'll be taking home the B&F at this rate, I expect there is a clear gap between him and everyone else.

West Coast won 11 games in 2014, there is nothing similar about our 1 win season.

Or Watson in 2012. The main problem with your theory is that West Coast won 11 games in 2014. Meanwhile, Essendon this season has been one of the least competitive teams in the past two decades.

If you jump on the AFL Brownlow Predictor it indicates that Merrett is likely on seven votes and the team is likely to have received 17 votes so far.

Unless you are Gary Ablett, umpires are going to largely ignore your performance, no matter how good, when your team gets smashed.
