Has the media fooled the general perception of this bloke, or is he truly better than a Goddard or Hayes.
And has he had a better year this year as opposed to future hall of fame midfielders such as Judd & Ablett in the last 5 years?, according to some media experts he has.

He's racked up the cheap possessions this year while Collingwood have won games & Didak has got the number 1 tag, not to mention he's been favoured more by the interchange than any player i've ever seen.

No surprises he has looked better with the inclusion of Ball, one of the hardest inside players I've seen. And Scott Pendlebury going to another level this year, and taking alot of the inside possessions.

Has this bloke ever had an influence on a finals game?... more specifically, a finals game that has led to a tight fought Collingwood win.

Untaggable my ***. I seem to remember players like Ablett and Judd having more of an influence in games that matter in the last couple of years while continually copping the hard tag, than Swan has had this year in tight games.

And today proved to me that Hayes is more of an elite midfielder in the comp, than Dane Swan is.

Swan's 1st bad game in 14 weeks including finals, not elite at all.

Even for a game, Swan looked dangerous and was moving the ball forward for the pies, his speed was amazing.

Hopefully he can play better next week.

Edit. Is Riewoldt elite? Silly thread..

So Swan has 1 average game and people bag him out and then people say he has no influence on games, Swan is a gun kicks goals and has plenty of scoring involvement.

I'm not just talking grand finals. I mean impact in finals overrall. Riewoldt has had some of the best individual performances you will see in finals, especially the last 2 years.

His impact today was great compared to the limited opportunities he had up forward, compared to that of Dane Swan's overall game. Dane rarely impacted the match at all except for a couple of centre clearances, most of which were after Collingwood were up & had the momentum.

Look I am not going to argue with you about Swan's game today, it was average at best, but if you really think Swan had limited impact in the final series, watch Coll vs WB and note when Swan kicks his 3 goals, watch Coll vs Geelong and note which players were leading the Collingwood charge.

As I've already stated. He's looked good in the last two finals' games, as the opposition has rarely given a yelp. But going back on previous finals, and today's important match, you will clearly see he hasn't been the stat whore like he has during the year.

Take my advice, watch Coll vs WB and note the scoreboard when Swan kicks his goals.

Until you do that, stop posting crap.

2007 - The extra time final at Subi, Swan was unbelievable 40 odd touches a couple of goals and powered the pies over the line.

The two earlier finals this year.....39 touches and 3 big goals against the dogs
33 touches and 2 goals against the cats.

Feck me....he had a solid game today

Swanny will snaffle the norm and a premiership next week!

Played injured during last year's finals...
and Collingwood's player of the finals in 2008

He was great in both the Prelim and the semi final in 2007, one ended in a draw and went to extra time (38 possies and the game winning assist) and the other was a narrow Cats win (25 touches). I thought he was pretty amazing last year against Adelaide in the second half when we won by a point.

Played ordinary today, but still had more clearances than any other player on the ground. I am very confident Swan will have a big game next week.
