Well she didn't ask for her husband to die did she?? I mean, she would still be shattered so she should at least get a little out of her tragedy.

How will the footy team and other private companies profit from it this time? Maybe they could sell Trisha endorsed floaties?
Laugh it up now you feral. You'll get yours.....just wait...

Just a question. Why would essendon get the privlage of playing in that game???? Surely it should be between the two clubs Troy played for IF it was to ever happen.

Troy played Essendon on his debut and his last match was the 2004 EF against Essendon which also happened to be his best game for the club.

Also, it guarantees us a win for his tribute game.

But he played for Port making his name at Port before being drafted to a vic club. He always wanted to get drafted to Port in the AFL. Why not play the game between the two clubs he played for?

I also believe they asked Wayne Broadbridge what he thought and Wayne said the tribute should be Round 1 v. Bombers.

let it go for sure. dosent need to be repeated. they should be honouring everyone that died in that disaster if thats the case, football stardom should not mean that we dont remember everyone else
Exactly.

Apologies to all melbourne/broadbridge/sob story fans but he is DEAD. So are a couple of hundred thousand others were in the wrong place at the wrong time.

For the record I think Darren Millane is a drunk d1ckhead who got into a car and drove into a parked truck even though his mates put him in a taxi to send him home. I have no sympathy for someone who did something so bloody stupid.

An annual game to celebrate an average AFL footballer who died in a natural distaster. I know there are some limited individuals out there in BF land but sheesh!

I reckon they should give him a permanent tribute, but not a footy cup. It should be something Melbourne can keep, a medal of bravery to their players, or perhaps naming for most improved or most determined or something.

It would be hollow if another club held the Troy Broadbridge cup
