A word or 2 on Blake Caracella

I've kept quiet on this for a while now, but i can't stands it no longer! Caracella has not had a great year by his standards, but how people keep lumping him in the same bunch of players like Heffernan and Blumfield is staggering to me. He is our 2nd highest possession getter this year, and our 3rd highest goalkicker and people keep mentioning his name when talking of trades. Amazing! I remember somebody bashing him for his performance against Geelong a couple of months back - he had 25 possessions and 3 goals for f**ks sake!!! Sure, he has been tagged out of a few games this year, but so has Jason Johnson. Caracella is one of the smartest players in the league and one of the better finishers in the game and if our club ever trades him it will be to our detriment.

I think you're 100% right. YOu only have to look at the goals he kicked against WEst coast. He has poise, knows how to finish, and is all class.

I have beena little critical of him, but not for what he is doing regarding getting kicks, but what he isnt doing.

Sure, he picks up his share of received possessions - he is the sorta player who will always get stats.

However, it seems lately what he is doing when he hasnt got the ball is a little concerning. His 2nd, 3rd efforts have basically disapeared, weak on tackles and overall you get the impression he is a disinterested player out there - going through the motions a little bit in certain games.

Having said that I wouldnt want to trade him, but of course that depends on who is offered. He isnt in the "required player" bracket who will not be traded regardless.

Heff, Blumfield and Caracella IMO need a bit of a kick in the ar$e, because if those three lift the whole side takes a different dimension. Perhaps talk of trade in the firecracker they need shoved you know where.

Could not agree more. I reckon he's in our best 5-6. He hasn't had a great season, but he's not the worst. We know that when JJ gets tagged, that releases Caracella, Misiti, Blumfield and Heffernan to pick up the slack. Misiti's missed a bit through injury, and Blumfield and Heffernan haven't responded, which left Caracella with a the jobs of 3 blokes, which can't be good.

I reckon people should lay off. Caracella is the type of player who would respond to a bit of critisism, as long as its warranted. At the moment, he just needs a shot of confidence.

You're right about that. When Heffernan's giong especially, he seems to be untouchable.

Okay ... i put my hand up. I've unfairly had a go at him this season. I know he is a much better player than he is showing.

Guess i was just disappointed seeing as he was in my dream team!

I have noticed this.
Cara....
1. I love the bloke, gifted finisher.
2. He looks to me to be a player who wants to move on. His body language is not good, he has knocked back a contract offer already (insulting offer ) If we are not careful we lose him and get nothing.

Wait Johhny. I've never bagged Pev, east keilor boy. Gazza for obvious reasons. Scotty I can't. He has the best sidees in the comp.

I will admit to mcviegh. The sooner we rid ourselves of this ****ter the better.
